Coaching Defense -- Ask Bud

Feel sure that many of you watched the Chic-Fil-A Bowl last evening.

Masterful job by Bud Foster and the Hokie Defense.

Makes me a bit sad that VT handled UT the way they did and then I look at some of our recent defensive coaching boners and scratch my head.

VT actually wrapped up when they tackled . . . . imaginative LB/DB blitzes . . . .never too late to learn.

Go Dawgs!

Yeah, Buc, my son and I were watching and at one point he just said, \"Man, how did we make this offense (UT) look so good????\" VT definitely kept them stymied all night. I REALLY hope we can land a top notch DC. I miss seeing our Dawgs play D like that.

sadlerdawg, wife and I watched the game and asked the same question your son asked. Know that UT will get better the longer the regime is in place. Like you, hope our choice for DC proves to be the right choice. Still thinking Coach Sanders, not sure why.

Tennessee will get worse before they get better.
I have to admit. It was fun watching Lane act like the spoiled brat that he is.

Lane Kiffin is over rated. He has done nothing with his career, but take advantage of being with USC during their glory years. I kind of expected UT's O to struggle, but the great MK defense getting man handled is what I didn't expect. UT's big time over paid coaching staff is over rated also.

averagedawg, this is the first year (I think) in my life that I have not rooted for a SEC Team. Think that my dislike is more for the Vols than any other team in the conference.

Love Monte . . . . . can't accept Lane, just too full of himself.
