A real headscratcher...

I would like to think that maybe CMR did talk to Koennig and a few of these others who are saying they have been offered the job and declined. I would also like to think that possibly CMR didn't like their philosophy and they are saying they turned it down as a matter of personal pride as opposed to having to say I talked to Georgia and they decided I wasn't right for them. Maybe we have had behind the scenes talks with one of the others and already have reached a decision but out of respect for the other team we are holding off until after the bowl game. Some coaches are close to their players and may not want the distraction/disappointment prior to the game. Just my wishful thinking though. I also believe in Santa.

Hey Yall, I Have to think that since we have no one yet and it will be January before we know, that it hopefully will Be KS, Because as far as I know I have not heard him say he is not interested in coming back to UGA, so it makes me think he just wants no distractions until after the NC. Or this could be just wishful thinking on my part. Because surely our AD is not this incompentent. I have to think that all this stuff that is going on right now is a smoke screen, Or at least I hope so, because if This has been for real, then we are in trouble.

My 2 cents.

You know, we could have actually made a higher offer to Koenning. If Koenning has HC aspirations, what better place to go than to Illinois. If Zook doesn't have an unbelievable year in 2010, he's gone. I think Keonning is playing this strategically by going to Illinois thinking that this move may be the quickest way to a HCing job. IMO, Zook is DONE, he won't be back for the 2011 season. If Illinois will hire Zook as their HC, they would certainly hire Koenning as well. Might be a great move for Koenning.

I, too, like the idea of someone with NFL experience the more I think about it.

Buc, I agree 100%. I looked and it is not in his contract to allow the Donnan years to return. My point is just that he has made many good decisions with regards to this program and I trust that this BIG decision will be a good one. If it is not it may be his last BIG decision here.

savannahdawg . . . Spring football is going to tell all of us a lot. You are right, Coach Richt has done a lot, time to pick up that pigskin again and score. No fumbles Coach Richt. This also includes our Athletic Director, he is being watched very carefully, as it should be.

BTW.......for what it's worth, I just talked to my guy/source and he said that Koenning would have preferred UGA, and we were speaking with him. However, we never offered him the job. He didn’t think that he could pass the Illinois job up.
