OSD, trying to get a grip on your last two posts. One thing that caught my eye was this comment in your post . . . .

I just want to see real results that matter not womens gynnastics.

Hoping that I read this wrong, or got the wrong impression.

Buc, I am just frustrated, I feel like we came so close when BVG was here just to let him get away, then here we are again back almost to square one, IMO I think KS is the right man for the job, And I just want to know UGA has given truly there all to get him, I am tired of excuses or wait for this or that. I see other programs go out an get the coaches they need, I just know we cant mess this hire up. Bottom line is I want our program to be aggressive and get the best.

Until we have a decent venue, the basketball program is toast.

OSD, here's the problem I have with the tone of your posts. You seem to think that Damon Evans' only job is to make sure that the football team succeeds on the field. You also seem to imply that the \"big money\" male-dominated sports (football and basketball) are the only ones on campus that matter. The fact is that we support several men's and women's sports. Evans' job is to keep each and every one of those teams viable, keep their athletes in class, keep their grades up, keep good coaches here and hire good coaches away from other schools, keep a positive face on the University and make it an attractive place for student-athletes, coaches, trainers and non-athlete students to come. Brian Van Gorder was on his way out the door MIDWAY THROUGH DAMON EVANS' FIRST YEAR AS AD.

Also, the fact is that Charlie Strong's race, not his own decisions, kept him at Florida for so long. Even Charlie has said that he wanted to be a head coach long before now, and that the NCAA \"is getting better\" about hiring black head coaches in football. If Strong had been white, he'd've been gone from Florida a LONG time ago; hell, he'd've been a better choice for USC's head coach than Spurrier. Believe that.

I respect yalls opinions alot dapolla, and enjoy reading a lot yall write, I do think of football and basketball more because those sports appeal to me more and are the big money makers. I guess I have had a big problem with how things happened when BVG left, at the time I wasnt sure why he left I new he took the HC at GA southern but I was like that still isnt as good a position As DC at UGA or to me it wasnt. Anyway The way CWm was just thrown in there when he left to me was not right, I just feel like the Ad should have had a Look around to see who else would be better at the DC position, I think CMR just told Evans this is who it is gonna be and he just went along with no Questions asked. Ofcourse i wasnt there and do not know this but its the feeling I get.
CWM was not ready for that job and it showed, we paid the price for it. and far as the Bball I feel they settled and didnt do as much as they could there either and it has shown there to. I just look around at other ADs at other programs and see much more demand and aggressiveness. they dont settle as easy. I wished Evans had gone after charlie strong when BVG left instead of just going along with CMR, and dont get me wrong I love CMR, I just feel like in CWM s case he let his friendship get in the way of his common sense. And if we had a stronger AD at the time he might have told CMR we need to get someone that is really qualified for the job, Just like now im reading that B. sanders may be here, I just cant believe we cant do better here, take more time or do a better job, or maybe its just me being a blind UGA Fanatic who cant accept a mediocre program. It just makes me sick that we have to settle all the time. It really bothers me to think 2 former UGA players are about to play against each other in the NC as DC s and we cant get either one. just makes me question who is in charge at UGA and are they truly qualified. after all alabama and texas thought enough of our guys to hire them why didnt we see that. I do appreciate your insight though. Go Dawgs!

OldSouthDawg, the thought has never crossed my mind that you don't bleed Red and Black. Don't think there is a single one on this board that is not frustrated with recent happenings. Maybe in the next few days all of us will get our spirits uplifted. Know that I could use some of that elixir, snake oil or whatever . . . . :)
