UGA Athletic Director

I guess the frustration really started with me last year agaist bama. Needless, to say that our offense didnt help much with turnovers, just like they are not this year, but I have finally snapped as far as the DC goes. However, I am newer member to the board so I understand that you guys have wanted him out before I did. I couldn't agree more. But do we really think that CMR would fire a guy in the middle of a season, or tell him \"Hey Willie, about next year. Your fired, but if you don't mind we would like for you to finish out this year\" No he is keeping everything where it should be IN HOUSE until the end of the year.

Duck,
That's some really bed news. If I had an NFL propect kid CMR is exactly the type of man I would want to serve as a role model. Unfortunately, I would not want him to jeopordize his career by learning basics under Bobo or Martinez.

If I understand you right, CMR is afraid to let go of them because it would mean admitting a mistake. Yeah, his words are prettier but the meaning is still same. It hurts me to think he said that. If I had a kid I would be advising him to go to a different school. Somewhere with both role models AND teachers.

AllDawgs5, thanks for the input. Personally don't think that most are saying fire WM this year. Think that most of us know that won't happen, but can't have this continue and be real civil about the situation. I think that Coach Richt, and a lot of folks do, has gotten himself backed into a corner and he does not like it.

I am going to go out on a limb here, just have this feeling. Would not be surprised if Coach Richt stands by his choices for coordinators and coaches and lets the chips fall where they may. I just have this feeling that pride could be creeping in on this situation, and there are not going to be too many avenues of relief. This could be the UGA story ending for someone that has given much to the University of Georgia and appreciated by many.

We all have had circumstances in our life where we had those difficult decisions to make, this is Coach Richt's time for that decision. (Football) We all know of other life changing decisions he has had to make.

Can you imagine the press and bloggers reacting to the UGA coaching staff if certain coaches are here next year. Hard for me to get a foot hold. This program cannot afford to slip any further, and quite frankly I have reservations about next year already. The reason for the pro and con statements that are made on this site are because all of us care about UGA. All of us just have different ideas on how to get this thing turned around. Quite frankly I enjoy your posts, hope that you are here when football season is over, just a good bunch of Dawgs.

There is a way to keep both Bobo and Martinez. I don't like it becuase I don't think either of them are competitive in DivI football. Nonetheless, replace the staff underneath them with position and strength coaches who will build absolutely rock solid fundamentals. In effect you push Bobo and Martinez further into management in order to remove them from the field of play. Would it work? Of course it would work. Bama's playbooks and schemes are even more simplistic and predictable than ours. But they have absolutely flawless execution of the basics. Once you cover the basics in your sleep then you can start improving the fancy stuff.

I doubt it though. I think we will see the Tony Dungy scenario.

Buc, great post. Couldn't agree more. Richt can either jump on a life boat(get rid of WM), or he can sink with the ship. I hope I am not sounding conflicting at all, cause I love the board and the input from you guys. It is awesome and I am thankful to be a part of it. Guess all I am trying to get across is that I like CMR as a coach and I know everyone else does for the most part. I just think it would be a mistake if we let him go, but if he doesn't do something quickly, then I also agree that he leaves the university with no choice.

Waylon, correct you are with the FSU comparison. Lets just hope CWM pulls a Mickey Andrews at the end of this season too.
