Time to go to the woodshed about the celebrating

Yes you can have you never watched CMR on the sideline during a game?

The team defeated themselves with all the celebrating on the field. Out of control egos never help any situation.

According to the SEC, AJ did not celebrate at all: sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4534433

stevedawg I totally understand what you are saying. I agree 100%! However, that was anything but unsportsmanlike behavior. AJ was trying to get off the field or coming to the huddle for a 2 point try. His team started congratulating him and BOOM. If they had been drawing attention to themselves I would side with you. The officials have to much authority. I heard today that the head of SEC officials publicly said they blew the call. If the O would have showed up it would be a mute point but they didn't. What if the fans sat on their hands and acted like they had been there before. The officials need to be held accountable. Even if they blow a call they get their check and it is a hefty one. Ask Ray Lewis what he thinks about momentum changing calls. UGA did not deserve to get that win but there is no way you can convince me that LSU did. Without emotion football is a very boring sport. I am not going to blame those young men for that loss, but I can think of two coordinators who are horrible.

I’m torn on this one folks. No doubt, it was a BS call and affected the outcome. However, the following three plays were all UGA’s fault. They did not cover the kick return well so it went for a bundle and on top of that UGA had a stupid penalty due to improper formation on the kickoff. This put LSU on UGA’s 38 before they even took a snap. They gained 5 yds. on the next play and 33 yds. for the TD on the one after that. None of those were the fault of the penalty. Now on the ensuing kickoff, LSU was in the exact same boat and UGA had to start the drive from their own 22. So that’s the big difference. LSU starts from UGA’s 38 and UGA starts from their own 22 under the exact same pretenses. That is UGA’s fault.
That being said, the situation should have NEVER happened so I do believe that UGA wins the game if it weren’t for the call. For the record, a total BS call directly led to Tebow’s injury since three plays prior, the Gators scored a TD but was called back for a phantom holding penalty. If that BS call didn’t exist, then Tebow would not have been on the field and would have been done for the night. So yes, I feel your pain.
I will say this. UGA needs to get over it fast or they will lay an egg in Knoxville this Saturday.

Hmmm... Good points.

I agree the call was BS and the celebration was mild. The emotion is well deserved. I can feel it so I can imagine what it must be like on the field. I did not mean to say anyone one the team did anything bad although reading my posts I can see how that could be interpreted that way.

I just thought this a good time to see if anyone else would like to take that variable out of the game. A replay would never work. Even the officials would have different opinions. It is an ambiguous call at best.

GO DAWGS!
