I must admit, you were right, dapolla. These guys can play! My best case scenario was to leave Arizona with two out of three. I underestimated them. I'm free to drive the bandwagon if it's alright with you.

Man, I need to make my way up to Athens to watch these guys play!

I have to admit, even I expected to lose Friday or Saturday and have to force a rubber game. But we have not failed to score in double digits in securing our best start in 9 years and the second-best start in school history! These boys can score, they can pitch, and when there ARE errors in the field, they know how to recover. Let's wait till SEC play starts, but boys...I think we may have the best team in the country, far and away.

That's no excuse for taking it easy, Dawgs. Don't forget to take it to them Terriers on Tuesday!

As a post-script, when you combine Georgia baseball on the radio with a quick afternoon nap, you get wonderful dreams!!!

Everyone is talking about our offensive production and rightly so. We have looked unbeatable so far. Here are a couple of tidbits on our pitching staff.
As a staff, we have a 2.89 ERA and a .236 BA against, and as you know, with the aluminum bats that's impressive. That's with 12 pitchers seeing action! (opposing pitcher's ERA is well over 11, by the way). Of the 12 pitchers to see action 3 are Freshman. Our pitchers have pitched 81 innings so far. As a staff we've struck out 88 batters. That's more than 1 and inning. That is the best way not to advance baserunners!

Some offensive stats you might not know- Our 6 freshman position players are batting .345 (51-148).The six have 7,6,4,4,9,& 8 starts between them in 9 games. Looks good for the future! GO Dawgs!
