New Greg Reid story

This just serves to confirm that Urban Meyer is a spoilsport crybaby who should not be allowed anywhere NEAR a college kid. Good coach? Yes. Great talent surrounding him? Sure. Teaching kids the right things about sportsmanship and being a man? Hell no. The guy is scum, and unfortunately, he's going to keep winning, which means that HYPEspn is going to keep giving him pub for being a \"great coach\" and people will think that that's how you're supposed to act. Filth.

Winning isn't everything, you high school recruits out there. Being a good person means a hell of a lot more than a crystal football.

dapolla, you are SOOOOO RIGHT!!!!! I have a couple of clients that are big Gators and they think that Myer is a man with great character and discipline and that he teaches his kids the same. They look at everything about him through orange and blue glasses. They can't differientiate between being a good coach and having character and a disciplined program.

I definitely agree with dapolla about Urban. Did anyone see the highlights of Senior Day with CMR? He was amazing with the players and their families, giving big hugs to everyone and you could see the pride he had for the players. I saw an interview with CMR and he talked a great deal about helping the players off the field to become good husbands, fathers, and citizens not just good players.

That's the coach I want for my team, not someone who just cares about winning.

:) :) :) Hey S.C.dawg, I understand that coach W.M. is a great person to play for and this board is ready to fire him. Also realize that the Gators have the lowest SAT and GPA in the SEC for admittance of a student athlete. Believe it or not, Kentucky has the highest. If this kid does not have the grades I hope Georgia does not go after him. We need smart athletes that have some moral backbone to them and don't end up on the police blotter!! As always, GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point, Dawgdoc, notice they don't mention about the low SAT's and GPAs in regard to UF. But praise be to them because they win, who cares if they get a degree. Its the worst message to send.

Thought I would drop this in . . . . .probably many have read this, for those that haven't . . . . classy . . . . Pulled this from the AJC.

Georgia coach Mark Richt made a promise to Troup offensive lineman Chris Burnette: If you’re the valedictorian, then I’ll be at your graduation to hear your speech.

“[Richt] said he was proud of me, and if it happens, he’ll be there,” Burnette said. “I was honored he said that to me, especially with all the [coaching responsibilities] he has.”

“That would cool to have [Richt] at graduation. He is like a celebrity, and it would be a wild atmosphere with him there.”

Burnette decided against enrolling early at Georgia so he could stay at Troup to compete for the No. 1 academic honor. Burnette has a 5.012 GPA and slight lead over two others in the valedictorian race. He has made straight A’s since kindergarten.

“I was already very motivated, but [Richt saying that] gives me even more,” Burnette said.

Richt told Burnette he has never recruited a valedictorian during his coaching career.
