Utah = National Champs

If the Associated Press doesn't vote Utah its national champion, then its voters are idiots and cowards.

Consider this:

1) Utah is 3-0 against current BCS-ranked teams (defeated #4 Alabama, #11 TCU and #16 BYU).

2) Utah defeated Alabama by more points (14) than did Florida (11), arguably on a bigger stage, and with a farther distance to travel.

3) Speaking of travel, Utah went to Ann Arbor and ended Michigan's season before it began. Let's not forget that Florida couldn't beat Michigan in their home state at the Capital One Bowl last year.

4) Common competition. Besides the Florida comparison, Utah beat Oregon State, which USC couldn't do, and beat UNLV, which Arizona State couldn't do. They beat TCU, which Oklahoma also did.

5) True \"national\" champs. Utah beat teams from five different conference, including their own. Three of those conferences were BCS (Big Ten - Michigan, Pac-10 - Oregon State, SEC - Alabama). By way of comparison, Florida only played teams from three different conferences (excluding OU from the Big 12), beating only two teams (FSU and Miami, both from the ACC) in a BCS conference. Oklahoma was much more rounded, playing teams from four different conferences including their own, and beating two (Washington - Pac-10 and Cincinnatti - Big East) from BCS conferences.

6) Undefeated. I shouldn't have to elaborate on how hard this is to do. And unlike Hawai'i last year, Utah both won its bowl game and beat bowl teams.

The only criterion that says that the winner of Florida-Oklahoma should be the undisputed national champ is the date on which the games are played.

Take heed, AP: VOTE UTAH!!!!

dapolla, thought that the Bama/Ute game would go much like the Hawaii/UGA game last year. Surprise, surprise. I enjoy watching young pups having fun and (proving) the prognosticators to be just what they are . . . . guess that includes me also. If I was a betting man would have wagered the back forty on Bama. Also, your Panthers are sitting in a pretty good position now, good luck to them, strong team when they all contribute.

I think that if the NC game is close then UTAH will definitely be #1 in th AP, if the game is a blowout by florida or OU then they wont get the vote, its that simple, Utah fans need to be cheering for a good close game to at least get a split title.

And once again, if people on the board cant see how this helps georgia in recruiting you are crazy.

One team lost, one team won. Would you not be the first phone some good on the edge recruits get this afternoon from Richt?

If you cant see how them losing to a team that everyone expected them to crush then I cant help you, they were ran over in the first half, just like we were against them but we came back and fought, there was very little fight left in that bama team once they got down.

We came back and made it a game in the 2nd half, they didnt even get to that point, I wish willie would take notes on how to rattle an average QB as well.
