a game of two halves

we've had a real hard time putting together a whole good game this season. We were terrible against bama for the first, but were good in the second. We were with fl. in the first, then died in the second. Good against tech in the first and crap in the second...crap against MSU in the first but good in the second...I could go on but you get my point I hope.
Why can't we put together two good halves in a game? I don't have the answer - I'm seriously asking for opinions - players, fitness, coaching?

Well, my 2cents worth. Maybe less.

The players are all young, immature. We have had over 20 season ending injuries.

They won the game, and I am only sad because now I have to wait til September before another Ga football game. Don't care for round ball, baseball, or any of the other sports. Just love Ga football. 10-3, not a bad season.

Would I have liked a championship? You bet! Hoping for one in 2009!

don't get me wrong - I'm very happy we won and I'm actually not complaining, just was pondering our season over my cocktail and the lack of solid complete game play kept jumping out in my head. I'm very positive about next year - O line will be better/more experienced, not losing too many players, AJ should really become dominant, if MS and KM stay the sky is the limit!

Bowl games are like a new season, slow starts aren't unusual. I am proud of the ten wins and proud to be a Dawg.

I agree with averagedawg but this has happened too many times as charlestondawg has pointed out.

I've waited until the end of this year to say this and it pains me to say it...of course, just my opinion. There's a local sports radio guy here that I have always respected, mainly on the NFL because it's his job to travel and really cover the NFL from pre-season camps on through the season. he really knows football. He has commented the last couple of years about how much talent we have had and how many are playing in the NFL and that with the talent we've had over CMR's regime, we should have won a couple of NC's. He has stated several times that CMR is not a good gameday coach, gets too conservative in big games (especially against UF) and doesn't get the most out of his players by having them ready to play, therefore losing one or two big, very important games that we SHOULDN'T lose, costing us chances at the NC. This same guy loves MS, is not biased against UGA and would take him as the #1 pick in the draft in his opinion.

I've listened and listened and I gotta tell ya, after the last few years, I'm starting to believe he's right. I'm totally losing confidence in our entire coaching staff (except Searels). From DC to OC to our special teams coaches, with the players we have had, I'm starting to wonder if our staff can COACH EM UP!!

I'm a die hard Dawg and always will be but I'm starting to doubt some things in Athens....we certainly have the players.

Sorry to be so negative but I've always been a REALIST.
