I've been a die hard Dawg for over 40 years and as long as I'm on this planet, I always will be!! Living in Jax will be very hard for the next 364 days, geez, it's actually been somewhat hard the last 366 days and we WON last year.....

Here's the only problem I'm having and this is applicable to ANY sport. Not even sure how to put it in words, it's almost an intangible, a \"will to win\", an internal thing in athlete's, a mindset etc (see can't even title it).........to bottom line it first,....truly GREAT teams (or athletes) \"know\" how to stay in the game even when things aren't going well.....the GREAT ones don't seem to ever really get thumped, they find a way to stay \"in it\"......they are either physically great, well coached, very smart decision making, or just flat have a \"WILL\" to be in the game (or match etc) and somehow get a \"W\" when they probably should have lost. Don't know whether it's an instinctive chemistry, an \"inner\" confidence and will......or what but the GREAT one's all have it (the 1980 team had \"it\"....refused to lose even though they probably should have lost a game or two)

Now, I have felt this team had the potential to take it all along with a couple of past teams ('02? 13-1 team but lost to UF?) but they just don't have that \"it\" factor, refusing to lose, finding a way to \"stay in it\", always \"there\" at the end of the game no matter how bad a day they may have been having. Don't feel we should be having 2 complete blow out losses like we've had almost every year.....GREATNESS just doesn't work that way. Guess I'm saying that we have the athletes, the coaches, the school, a lot of all the things that ALMOST make you GREAT......except that \"IT FACTOR\".

Sorry I'm not expressing myself very well. In my 40 something years of competing and seeing great players, teams and athlete's, the TRULY great one's had \"IT\" and until the Dawgs get that \"IT\", just feel we will always be very good and are in great hands with CMR but have to wonder to myself lately if they can reach GREATNESS.

Thanks for understanding that I'm NOT very good at expressing myself, just feel there's something missing and I want our Dawgs to find it.........because I LOVE THE DAWGS in a very special way.

I know exactly what you mean, wlayton. It's a confidence, bordering on cockiness, almost a \"swagger\", if you will. UF's got it, USC had it in the early part of the decade, FSU had it all through the 90's, Miami had it in the 80's and 90's. I'm surprised our boys haven't found it yet, I thought Coach Richt might have brought it with him from FSU, but I guess not yet.

Teams that have the swagger, it's almost as if the team knows they are going to win every game, even when they are losing, and still KNOW they are going to win right up to the final gun, no matter what the outcome ends up.

Every dawg has its day and this past Sat. just wasn't ours. All I have to say is one game at a time. Kentucky lookout.
