I have major problems with this thread. Here they are:

1) USC always plays us tough. We were never supposed to dominate them. I was uneasy about my prediction of 31-17, because let's face it, we never have a good offensive day against them. In the Richt era, the rule is, we score an offensive touchdown, we win. Period. We did, we won. Period.

2) No one is going to scream that we are overrated. This was a conference game on an opponent's home field in the SEC against a national title winning coach. It is a win against the #1-rated defense in the SEC. We beat them by a touchdown. You have a problem with winning?

3) This was a defensive struggle, and I'm proud of the way our D stepped up. You know, without Jeff Owens and without Marcus Washington, in our first conference game, we held SCarolina to only 7 points. We forced a fumble in the end zone and ended the game on an interception. I have no problem with that. Nobody had a problem with beating Tech 14-7 to wrap up the 2005 SEC Championship season, did they?

4) Tripp Chandler had this exact same game against USC last year. I'm not ready to bury the kid yet. Maybe we start Bruce Figgins against ASU, get Tripp worried about keeping his job. But there's no reason to trash him. Remember, he saved our butts against Vandy last year and caught what turned out to be the game-winning TD against Mississippi State in 2006. He's not useless.

There is no reason to trash the Dawgs after a win. It disgusts me, it is not appropriate for this board -- nor is the language, by the way -- and in the end, who cares what the rest of the country thinks? They can't take away our undefeated record; only we can do that.

Hey, just read the end of the thread from Buc and fire_dawg. Thanks for the votes of confidence.

There are a lot of emotions goint on during a game. More with the fans than the players(Thank goodness coaches and players stay sane). Those emotions were on display in this thread, mine as well as others. I get very, very, very into the game as it is being played. My dogs, wife, and kids will not talk to me. I am working on controlling my emotions. If anything posted by me upset anyone, I do apologize.

We won, and that is the bottom line. Time for ASU.

I predicted a Georgia blowout, wishfull thinking I guess.
I'll take the W. I am always nervous about this game because of the history of the series.
This was not the same Gamecock team that played Vandy. They ALWAYS play their best game against us. Plus, starting off with two losses pretty much kills any hope of winning the SEC.
It's over. We won. That's all that matters.

I can say this. I was rooting out loud for Spurrier to start throwing his visor. I love it when he mad. It just makes my day. Course, there was a bunch of S.C. fans around as well. Made it that much sweeter.

Duck, have gone over this thread many times, trying to sort things out.

I say things in my TV room that I don't say on the internet. This from me to you. . . . I know that you are UGA through and through. Betting that there is not a person on this site that doubts your sincerity, I know that I don't. Have the feeling that maybe you have played some football (American ) and the spirit of the contest is hard to control sometimes. Keep posting, have read probably all of your posts and I appreciate you and where you are coming from for the most part.
