Red and Black, Win or Lose

According to Joe Schad of ESPN, we just named Kiante Tripp the new starting tackle on the left side in place of Trinton Sturdivant. This makes me happy, because Tripp is a beast (former DT) and an athlete, which means he'll be able to learn the position rather quickly. He'll have to learn it at least by the third game against SCarolina. I have high hopes for this kid though; everything I've heard about him is sunshine and roses. You guys' thoughts?

Well, here we go again with a young, inexperienced line. Having said that there is a great article in today's Banner-Herald about Coach Searels. I'm glad we start the season with our two (on paper) easiest opponents.
I think we'll be okay by the time we play the Gamecocks in Columbia.
The talent is there; big, strong guys. We will miss Sturdivant but that's football and you pick up the pieces and move on. Hopefully these kids see their opportunities to contribute and make a little history.

We figured he would move from RT to LT. Big, strong, athletic and played LT in high school.

dapolla, can't remember the coach that made the suggestion to Kiante last year, but went something like this, best I can recall. \"Kiante, want to make the big bucks and go to the league, move over to the offensive side of the ball\". Some on here will remember the coach that made that statement. Hate it, really hate it that Trinton went down, no time to lick our wounds, football season is here. This could be Kiante's best shot to prove his move from defense to offense was a good move on his and coach's thinking. Go Dawgs!

wlayton, thanks for asking. Never in my life (loooooooong time) have I seen this much rain. As I type this, it is still coming down by the buckets full. Think that you will probably get some of this us the JAX way. It really is serious. We ride some of the hurricanes out, but they come, do their business and leave. This has been here for 3 days now, stalled. Anyway, thanks again for asking, love my Dawgs, also love living here on Merritt Island and riding my Dawg tractor. Go Dawgs, go Kiante.
