NO, no credit and no props!
Maybe he should have jumped on board when UF president Bernie Machen tried to rally support for a playoff system from all the SEC presidents last year. He felt if the current national champ could gain the support from the rest of the nation’s best conference, then the NCAA would have to listen.
Yes, as I understand it UF’s president tried to rally support from his peers at last year’s SEC meeting but had very little support, including none from Adams.
I guess now that UGA got stung a bit, Mike Adams is all of a sudden a pioneer.
I actually laughed when I heard this news this AM.
GOOD LUCK Mr. ADAMS!!!
GatorinGA, can appreciate your feelings on this development, or proposed development. However, reading the first couple of posts in this thread, seems to me that the folks here are expressing their personal views. averagedawg and dedbugdug don't really seem to be in love with the headmaster.
Folks change their minds on issues, happens quite often. Sometimes the timing is not right, and that seems to always cause confusion. As an example of that . . . \"Billy\" told the world not long ago that he was leaving the University of Florida to become the head coach of the Orlando Magic. Donovan in my opinion was not wrong wanting change, just felt that he actually put his foot in his mouth not analyzing the situation more carefully. Same could be the case with Dr. Adams, however, I feel that he is expressing the feelings of the majority. The majority being the entire country, not just Dr. Machen or Dr. Adams. These bowls bring a lot of loot to universities that stand little or no chance of making it into the top four or eight or whatever the final count will be.
So, I will agree with wlayton and give props to Dr. Adams on this one, maybe a little off on his timing, maybe not. Now Dr. Machen has another voter on his side. Go Dawgs!
