He probably knew it was time because he lost to Mark Richt and saw Greyson Lambert set an NCAA record against his team.

I mean sometimes something happens that just makes it completely obvious that it's time to hang it up. Losing to this years Georgia team and allowing Lambert to complete 96% of his passes is such a thing.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Well I guess there's one thing that I can love Greyson for.

My hate for the old ball sack is strong.

I'm glad we whipped his butt in his last year.

Hey mark do us a solid and announce your retirement soon.

As wart says sometimes the signs are all there.

Beat down by Bama and out coached by butch....

Those are some STRONG signs.

Watching his post-game presser after the loss to the 'dawgs, he looked like a guy who was done.

"Our kicker and punter did good." I laughed....

dawgs_fans_dad, Spurrier figured if he could no longer beat Richt, it was time to call it quits.

South Carolina has great facilities in Columbia. They also have a fan base that is football crazy. Typical SEC.

Spurrier leaving immediately gives the powers in charge time to go after a coach that might be employed at this point. Bet this, there will be no lack of letters hitting the Athletic Department in Columbia wanting to interview for the job.

This might be bad news for us. Just a thought.

Spurriers game against the Dawgs was an SC disaster.

One major disaster, shamed and tired he is quitting while on top, well almost.

MR, you listening? We are still looking for a W out here in fan land. Are you going down with the ship or what? Well get this, we don't want the ship to go down. We just need a captain to steer away from the icebergs.

Here's hoping you getting a W this week.

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

Saw a great documentary on SOS last night, very interesting.

Like him or hate him, one thing for sure he's one of the best and innovative college football coaches ever.

If you haven't seen it, it's worth watching. What he did at Duke, UF and USC is phenominal.

Can't remember if it was on ESPN or another network (don't believe it was SEC Network)
