What I hate most is it really hurt the SEC Championship.
Other conferences... not so much because no one who doesn't win their conference is getting in the playoffs.
The SEC however? Not many cared all that much we lost the SECCG because we were in the playoffs regardless. People even talked conspiracy so the SEC would get both teams in... Back in 2017, Alabama didn't even make it into the SECCG and they didn't care because they knew they were in the playoff.
Sorry, but I grew up with the Sugar Bowl and winning the SEC Championship were bigger than what was then a mythical "National Championship".
While I love what we did here and certainly love winning the Natty, I miss "Can you see the sugar falling from the sky.."
