From Athens- Friday Thoughts

Good Morning All,

We have had almost a week to absorb the fact we won the Natty… by beating Alabama…

Heads are whispering… has the Tide slipped …. No…

We have gotten better…. Bama isn’t going anywhere….

Fact the Dawgs have become the poster child for college football… don’t think for a moment that football coaches from HS to college programs will not try to duplicate parts of our program in search of catching the winning magic…

HC … cautions all the Dawg Nation not to get compliance… our program needs their continued support…. Game attendance and fundraising….

Kirby’s process continues…. COVID…. Transfer Portal…. And NiL… have added new challenges that must be navigated…

For now…. All the 1980 jokes and. Beating Bama ….. Saban have been sent into the sunset…. Just like Ali and Frazier

The next time we play Alabama…. The heads will be calling for the Tide to restore order…..

Erk has a smile as the ole saying… Defense wins championships.. rings true… as least for the 2021 Dawgs..

Yes SB4 caught fire in the fourth quarter to regain the lead…..however, it was a defensive pick 6 that sealed the game..

Now the sprint to spring ball…continue to savor this wonderful feeling… it helps ease the feeling of no Dawg football games for eight month’s..

Pause and give thanks..

Continue to check on family and friends often…

You got that right Wart, it has been fun for at least 10 Years on this sight, its been up and down every nerve I've got and then some. It has been worth every minute of it though and now we get to put together a STRONG TEAM through this staffs great recruiting to make sure that it continues to be Elite.

For years Buc and others voiced the importance of the kicking game.

Can’t win championships with really good kickers

Jake kept flipping the field with each punt… and Hot Pod kept us

Close with his FG’s. Prime example of total team effort..

Yep... pretty much great in all 3 phases.

I've thought back over the game myself (and rewatched), and can really only find about 2 plays on O and the same on D where a player actually made a mistake or blew an assignment. (+1 on a ST penalty)

That's pretty phenomenal. A night of exceptional play by every player on the team.
