From Athens- Friday Thoughts 21-12-18

Good Morning All,

I had posted early that we would have recruiting surprises by week’s end and would pleased with them…..

Speaking for myself …… I am …..

I also posted that it was more important we fill position needs with quality recruits than having the # 1 recruiting class…. That if we did that we would finish in the top 3 ….. we did and currently sitting at # 2 ……

Well done CKS and staff……

Truly believe that several recruits that had Georgia as a possibility landed at another school …… did so because they didn’t want to risk getting stuck on the depth chart and not see enough PT……

Few words on the Field’s thingy …….

Wish him well … whatever he decides is best for his future…..

No easy answer to this problem as long as Jake is healthy and keeps improving……

Compounding the problem is there is only one year separation between Jake and Justin….. going forward with our Freshman recruits this won’t be a problem…… see it possible redshirting one or both…. If Justin returns……

Have signed several pups that are both big and fast to play for our defense …. A very good thing… wolf pack….. v 2.0 …. Like it a lot….

Wishing everyone a very “Merry Christmas”

If you haven't watched the video below, might pick up on a few things that are maybe a bit different than what most or many of us see written or hear on other videos and blogs.

Looking over the 2019 Schedule, at this point have to believe we make the Final Four. Games leading up to Notre Dame will certainly allow the team to be ready position wise to make Brian Kelly uncomfortable. 2019 Schedule looks a lot like Notre Dame 2018 Schedule as far as strength of teams lined up. See how that plays out when the selection committee and talking heads make their Final Four choices.

Circle our last home game against A & M....... Jimbo called out CKS and crew for contacting their committed QB to see if there was any interest by
him toward UGA...

Jimbo got his boxers in a bunch .... calling us bush league and that he didn't appreciate it..... and it's not how he recruits..... yada yada

Don't believe that during his time at FSU and A & M that he and his staff never contacted a committed recruit.....hmmm ....maybe not this late but HC was in scramble mode to sign a quality QB for the cycle..

which he did ..... didn't hear any noise from OSU ......

Bet HC remembers come late September .....

Jimbo Fisher had lost his "grip" in the state of Florida/FSU. Left the program in a serious "mess". Some of the things that he did to Bobby Bowden were anything but above board. Oil money will find out soon enough that their program "leader" is not worth the amount spent to get him. Many times "big money" borders on "stupid". Jimbo no different than urban, had his "special group" that could do as they pleased, and did. Competition became too keen on the recruiting front in Florida and TAM money saved his backside. Do not personally see Kirby Smart worrying about the "blow hard".
