From Athens- Friday Thoughts

So am I... and the thing with Ledbetter is he makes a difference without having to grab huge headlines or big numbers. Some of the stats that players like Smith and Patrick put up came on the back of Ledbetter (and others) eating up blockers and keeping those guys free to make the tackles.

So the thing here... does defense really win championships? If the old adage is true, we should take this game.

I do too, but a lot of folk think the game has changed and now it’s not “defense wins championships” any longer; it’s “just enough defense” to go with your high powered offense that does it.

I am not saying I agree at all, but this game will be a big test bed for that theory, because that is Oklahoma football these days.

Always interested in the officials calling the game(s). In the past it has given me "some" insight.
