Looking at where Georgia is now, ratings and FAN acceptance takes me to this . . . .
Kirby's first year in Athens and there were some moans and groans about the hire. Understandable, I suppose.
Traveling back in my mind to the Ole Miss game and that made some serious waves about just where Georgia is or would be under Smart and Company.
Kirby whittled the coaching staff to his liking and gave me along with some others a reason to pause.
Fast forward to today and Kirby is being saluted by most FANS for what the 2017 Team is accomplishing and can accomplish by the end of 2017. Was not unusual to see preseason predictors flashing 7 or 8 win season. Hard for me to believe then that we would be 7-0 at this point.
Maybe it comes down to understanding talent and how to properly handle that talent. Read somewhere that there are 7 starters that Smart and Company have recruited since their arrival. Message I gather from that is "coaching" does make a huge difference and it is playing out before us and the entire Nation.
As ogredawg said, all of us will know more about Georgia Football after today. I believe if(?) we win today that Georgia becomes more like the teams that Kirby has been associated with for years, teams that enter stadiums on Saturdays that play to win and move on to the next Saturday meeting. This team is good, how good, will know more after the final whistle blows.
Say again . . . . Win by one or twenty, just win.
Go Dawgs, Coach'em Up!!
