From Athens- Game Day Friday #8

Good Morning All,

I and others here have posted our thoughts about our program arriving at a point where we are looking to turn the corner…. And head in a new and better direction…. Well we are at that place again…

Big stage..prime time National TV coverage….. regrettably in the past we have faltered with less than desirable results…. That was then…this is now…

Part of our culture change was how we think about rival games….

Our former quarterback AM summed it up best… Alabama knows they are going to win… and has the confidence to go out and do it… we in previous years didn’t believe that we were the better team…

Huge difference….

Truly believe many of CJP teachings have remained and been built on by our current coaches…. “you don’t get what you want in life….you get what you earn”…..

Our Dawgs are about as serious a group of college players as I have ever seen…… remained challenged and focused to the job at hand…

To a man this team knows the difference between ….. Me and We….

This season we have learned the value of leadership… not paying lip service as we have done in the past…but leadership by example… holding each other accountable ….. Just do your job……

The other teams in college football understand the difference about this year Dawgs and those of the recent past…

Even with the success that Miami has had… the Richtbots have become really quite….. we know if we had not matched that success the bleeding hearts would have filled pages and pages about how we made a huge mistake in letting CMR go…..

Buc made a comment about how recruits would make a stop in Athens and then move on and commit elsewhere….

This has changed….. we are right up there knocking heads with the Tide and Ohio State…. And….. winning…. Great progress in

keeping in state talent home…..a big part of building depth….. early playing time for those who put in the work and effort…

Coach Kirby will have us focused….and ready to play…..

Wolfpack will be up to the task…. Defense back to level we saw against UT….

Strongly dislike urange….. 10th year anniversary of the endzone team dance…..after KM scored games first TD…

Let’s start a Red and Black winning streak…

Time to chop wood on the banks of the St. John’s…..

Pause and give thanks

This is the pivotal point of the season. This is the gateway to Atlanta. Let us charge through it and not look back.

History doesn't matter tomorrow. It's two teams, no rankings, no records, just 60 minutes of fast & physical football.

Get the job done. Do it with purpose, poise, and make a statement. Merciless brutal beating is what's required. Let's get out there and do it.

While it pains me to not be there for this one, I am thrilled to share it with you guys here.

yankeedawg1, easy to see considerable changes made in Athens with Jeremy Pruitt's arrival and departure. Pruitt is a hot item now and will be for as long as he desires. Feel Pruitt will hang tight much like Kirby did until the right opening appears. Saban is pleased with Pruitt's return and results. Will always appreciate the effect that Coach Pruitt had on Georgia Football. Indirectly what Pruitt did while here actually saved McGarity's job. Forced his and "others" hand on several needed changes. Indoor Practice Facility was one of several.

Going to check the weather for tomorrow now. 80% chance of rain tomorrow in my area of Florida, couple of hours down the road from JAX.

There is a different feel to this game day Friday... like watching a high jump at a track meet

Bar keeps moving up.... agree..... these are not the same Dawgs we were accustomed to..

Fun football question for everyone who posts here - this'll give us something fun to write about and read.

If you were coaching tomorrow, what would your strategy be? Start out throwing, to get their safeties to back up a little, make their linebackers hesitate just a split second, before starting to grind it out? Or would you just start out by cramming the rock right down their gizzard? Or maybe dink and dunk 'em to get 'em frustrated?

Would you blitz early, or just stay in your lanes and make them come to you? Cover tight on the line of scrimmage on the corners, or drop back a little and dare Franks (or Zaire) to hit some throws?

Maybe even a little MORE fun . . . if you had to coach Floriduh . . . how would you attack US?

I know we have some guys here who know football. What approach would you take? (Thanks in advance!)
