Game Day Friday # 9

Good Day All,

It just amazes me how people gave 15 years to one coach to win a NC and now after two thirds of his first season and without even having his first recruiting class on campus are ready to fire and replace him and his staff……. Yes some not all people feel this way…Opinions…. we all have them and the right to voice them….. I am sure many of mine are just as difficult to understand and agree with at times……

I don’t think anyone on this board had us as a NC team at the start of the season…. Yes I am disappointed but I understand how the results have come about….. we are harvesting the seeds that were planted with the 2012 recruiting class and every class since….. good and bad…..

Much like the number of games that CMR won we need to bore down past the glitz and see the lack of depth and planning on our future needs…. That made up his recruiting classes…..

I keep hearing about all the talent we have…..yada yada..

Several times in the past I have questioned both the level and mix of that talent….and yes we do have talented players….. but…

With just 2% of all college talent making it to play in the NFL that leaves the vast majority of college players filling supporting roles..

Looking at our current and recent past teams…. We just don’t have a cast of good supporting role players….. this points directly to our lack of depth at key positions…… Special teams is a place where young talent and role players can shine…… much has been said about our poor ST play and the lack of a ST coach…… just as big a factor imo is our lacking availability to provide quality role players to play on ST’s.

Been said that the picture is not going to change by the end of next season ( Giving our HC…. 24 months ) we won’t be any better and might even be in worse shape….

All this might be true…. However …. I want to look at what improvements have or have not been made over the course of the two seasons not placing all or nothing on season one.

Classroom moves to Lexington….. interesting that Vegas makes us a 3 point favorite over a home team that has been playing well and over achieving ….. while we have not…

Will our malaise end or continue????

We're a 3 point favorite because despite our lack of depth we are more talented team than Kentucky.

Only questions is if we put our young men in the best position to succeed. Haven't done that very much.

Kirby gets three seasons from me. That said, I'm not letting him off the hook for underperforming in any of those three seasons. You're probably right about the NC, but what about the Nicholl's State game or Vandy? That's not the level we expect at Georgia.

Kentucky has improved since Mark Stoops took the head coaching job. Has taken him some time to "build" the team, but he in my opinion has done a real good job. Not the easiest team to recruit for "football wise". Round ball a different story.

FSU loaded with talent, coaching the Seminoles up is a different project altogether. High fives to Mark Stoops, doing a much better job than his brother in Oklahoma. JMO.

Georgia a 3.5 point favorite, guess there is a reason for that. Everyone has an opinion.

Just looking at the time of the ark/gator game and uga/wildcat game. If the hogs could win the game, Kentucky is going to feel like they can win the sec east. They are probably going to kick ugas butt, as they will be jacked up. Would be kind of cool to see a cellar dweller win the conference. I'd rather see them win the east than Florida.
