Good Morning All,

Every once and awhile a story comes along that refreshes what we all though college football was about.

I speak of Brian Herrien….never a question about his talent on the playing field.

His problems were in the classroom. Looking at where he was and where he needed to get to… safe bet was he was looking at JC to get his marks were they needed to be.

He admitted that he surprised himself with being able to pull his grades together to the point he could enroll at Georgia and accept a scholarship to play football.

He will be a valuable asset in the locker room helping other team mates who run in to academic challenges.

CKS never gave up on him and was a silent motivator in quest to be a Dawg…

Well done… BH…… more quality depth at a key position…. HC didn’t recruit him to sit and play on the scout team….

Athens is still a buzz with our new pups arriving soon to join the summer workout programs…..

Buc we have a bevy of big ugly OL heading to the Classic City….. me thinks that come August you will be able to go out in your yard and hear the thuds from our practice fields….. expect to feel the ground shake….. we have an OL coach that understands the SEC game…

We only though we knew about ground and pound….we are about to crank it up…… we are going to be young at some spots but I believe that the OL in fact the entire team is going to arrive at the Dome with a mean streak… and be football ready…. HC won’t stand for us to be in a fog on game one……

In previous years game one was like firing a muzzle loader…. You pulled the trigger and with crossed figures you hoped all parts did their job…

But until the bang of the black powder you kinda held your breath….

I agree with an early thread posted about the excitement around our new punter…. Many of our thin areas have been addressed and will continue to receive attention to assure improvement …

There has not been a week go by since CKS was on the job that some piece of positive news came out about our program…. Recruiting has gone off the charts.. I don’t think that there were any of us that expected to see the results that have taken place… looking forward to…2017..2018… already we have interest from the top tier players in a number of positions.

June is closing fast…… that makes our fall camp just two months away…

Fun meter still inching upward….a very good thing..

Pause and give thank

Have a great weekend and a safe week…

As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

yankeedawg1, don't believe that Smart and Company have yet taken a full breath.

Never have I seen the results on "recruits" coming from young men in the State of Georgia choosing UGA. Think at this point yd1, those that have chosen UGA come inside our boundaries.

Why?

My guess is that the young players can separate the "stuff".

Allow me this . . . . In South Florida, the "U" is being run entirely different than the way football was being presented in the Peach State.

In South Florida, there are a lot of "requests" coming from the coach(es) for those that once played for the "U" to help.

One of the things being put out for all to see is a promise that a IPF is on its way. No timeline, maybe someone like Jeremy Pruitt needs to step up. Pruitt moved the "timeline" fast forward in Athens. McGarity still has a hard time dodging questions about the "truth".

Still believe that more needs to be said about UGA Football prior to the hiring of Coach Smart. There is MORE.

Kirby Smart leads. Nuff said.

Go Dawgs :)

You are correct Buc.

KS hit the ground running and has not let up. Leading by example. Hard worker.

We are lucky Dawgs to have him here.

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

Know that I sound like a broken record . . . .

On occasion now there are some sites that still want to talk about the previous head coach being a good man. That has not been in dispute on this board. Our problem, most of us for sure in the last 5 or 6 years wanted a leader.

My opinion, when Pruitt and Rocker found their way to Athens, the entire "structure or lack of" changed. Not only did it change the head coach and some coaches, it got the attention of those "higher up".

Have great respect for the former players that said enough was enough. Their voices grew too loud to be ignored.

Do I think that Smart and Company will fail, hell no. I have witnessed what this group of coaches can do and have done. Easy enough to dial up youtube and hudl and others and the videos speak nothing but the truth.

See where Auburn is going to have a camp in the Miami area. Had read comments from their head coach a short time back saying Auburn did not need to have these satellite camps.

Kirby spoke openly and said . . . . If that is the way the NCAA wants to go about this, fine, count me in.

Day by day college football involves itself deeper and deeper into the business world. Having been there for some time, just going to greater depths now.

NFL, National Football League. CFL, College Football League. There is no turning back. This will be the platform for money distribution in the CFL.

I am in total agreement with Nick Saban, time has come for a "Commissioner" in the College Football League. NCAA soon will be replaced by M&M and others, or they agree to become an "arm" of M&M and others. Huge salaries being paid to the NCAA folks, and it leads me to this . . . . FOR WHAT?

NFL has a commissioner. NBA has a commissioner. Baseball has a commissioner.

Remember the conversations a few years back about M&M were not close to finishing what they had set out to do. Promise was made on Dawgs.com. Also, IMG, not getting any smaller, and they run with the big dogs. There will be more.

Time to chop wood. Again, just my opinion.

Go Dawgs
