Monday Morning Border Patrol -- Smart and Company

My way of thinking . . . .

Kirby (players address him by his first name, requested/suggested by Kirby) did ask and prove that mountains can be climbed. Takes effort. That was the "first step" by Smart and Company.

For several years now we have had different coaches and the first words out of the their mouths were . . . . "Going to close the borders".

From where I sit, we finally have some folks/coaches that are doing just that (drawing lines in the dirt), making it difficult for outsiders to walk into the State of Georgia and leave with very good players, year after year.

Don't know about you guys, but I see young men taking a "second look" . . . . wonder why?

Also, folks upset about the $65,000 dollars and condoms and who knows what else that was paid for entertainment . . . . think about this . . . . Mark Richt was pulling Four(4) million dollars right off of the top of gate receipts or wherever Mahogany Row was gathering the money. When I divide the numbers up, I vote for the $65,000 dollars being laid out . . . . 4 million, you decide. Carney, yes I said that, again.

Go Dawgs, go Smart and Company, appears to some of us that this change was long overdue. McGarity, never doubt that you are being watched.

Hope all of the members have a great week. I know this, Smart and Company will be working their bottoms off.

:)

Looking over the abundance of talent that the State of Georgia alone has moving forward in 2017, 2018, leaves little doubt that those willing to "work" will reap the benefits.

In the past, we would be able to point or put a finger on those that were recruiting hard and those that were putting on an act.

Realizing that the new group in Athens has been in place for a short time, would bet the farm on this . . . . every one of the coaches were selected by Kirby, not pressured from the outside to choose a player that looked good in high school. This group hit the ground running, have no reason to believe that this type of effort will change.

Some in the press still like to play with the name "Mark Richt". Seeing less and less of that. There are a couple of beat reporters that are playing on the edge, but that will only backfire. Read an article today about Briscoe being stopped by the local law enforcement. When it comes to the point that article is the headline, sorry, something is wrong with that being the lead. Sad thing is, there were more than one employed groups, different rags that jumped all over the Briscoe stop.

Have not wanted to believe much of what I have read in the past about football players being targeted. Won't say that is totally true, but I must admit that I am having "serious second thoughts".

Truth is this in many cases . . . . Young men that have played football from a very early age do not think many times like athletes that participate in different sports.

My opinion, there is no reason to put this on the front of sport pages because they believe we want to know. Get real, still a game of "clicks" name of the game this day and time. Anyone that reads the Briscoe stop reporting also can stand up and say never happened to me? Never met a "wet behind the ears" football player from high school on up that did not have a "problem" at some point.

Some now saying that "nothing has changed" with the removal of Richt and the hiring of Smart. Bleeding hearts love this "stuff", figure it is another way for them to prove a mistake was made in releasing the Carney.

Will say this and it made me feel good. Kirby had a couple of players that had problems earlier and the beat reporters were all over that also, looking to "start something". Kirby allowed the two players to participate in the G Day Game. How do I read that, won't be long before Kirby brings a couple of these "click hunters" down. Anyone that believes that Smart and Company will not stand by and defend these players/young foolish men (yes), soon will see.

Sorry, this is not reporting, it is a scramble to remain employed.

Go Dawgs ;)

Saying you are 'closing the border' and actually doing it are two completely different things. If you are doing it there is no real need to announce it. Just do it.

Good riddance on the Carney. Bleeding hearts are not looking in the right place. Just as they never looked in the right places when their anointed one was here.

Pay attention. Winning games is the benchmark.

Call him Kirby. I like that.

Go Dawgs!!!

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

Sanford Stadium packed when folks are willing to put in the work. Foresight is also a plus.

Watched the Arkansas Spring Game.

Can understand why the head coach and the players visited with Sam Pittman and let him know they wanted him to remain.

There is little doubt that Kirby knew what he was doing when hiring Sam Pittman. The offensive line that Pittman left in Arkansas is going to kick a lot of butts in 2016.

Just another "solid reason" to appreciate what the "Bleeding Hearts" fail to understand. Love saying that.

Our offensive line is going to be better in 2016 than it was in 2015. Every year after 2016, there are going to be young offensive linemen from all over the country wanting to attend UGA. Yes, the coach has a lot to do with recruiting, not always the university being the reason they come onboard. Easy enough for me to accept.

Think that I can safely say that recruiting offensive linemen has improved 100% since the arrival of Sam Pittman.

The charges on Briscoe were not wearing a seat belt & leaving his license back at the dorm. Give me a break! Athens is a witch hunt on football players.
As always, GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!
