yankeedawg1, I really don't fool myself. Realize that many of the SEC teams will have very good players. With the emphasis this day and time on college football, seems more and more young folks are entering the game. So much has changed, facilities, coaches and a ton of other things that interest young pups.

The one thing, or one of the things that lights me up that you said . . . .

Coach Smart and those that he is in charge of will get off the bus, dawg walk or whatever and they "will" give effort.

Are we Alabama yet, would not bet the farm on that. Are we up to speed with other teams in the SEC? Not one team that I can think of that I would shy away from. Said the other day, losing is one thing, but losing through giving up, does not and has not set well with me and others for a long time. Wartdawg has always said it best . . . . No Excuses.

Might be some have watched the following video. Pleases me when I see a young man like Tyler Simmons discussing his feelings about family and football. Great get.

Mecole Hardman could have played at the "U". Young man understands that he is first off, talented. Chose not to follow the Miami coach.

Mecole is the young pup that worked on Simmons. Not an easy task getting committed players to leave Alabama and go "anywhere".

Once the "depth" is built in Athens, we will be able to "compete". In my mind, Mecole Hardman is the "serious" beginning of changing fortunes of Georgia Football.

Mecole could play for "any college football team in the country". He chose the University of Georgia, under the leadership of Head Coach Kirby Smart, and not to be forgotten, the coaches also believe in Smart.

The coaches in Athens could choose where they want to coach, has to be a reason as well as the players that this group of coaches are now in Athens. Remembering that Arkansas players and head coach wanted our offensive line coach, really wanted Coach Sam Pittman to remain with them. There had to be a reason for Coach Pittman changing residence. Another reason that "talent" will remain in Georgia and know they will be taught the "finer aspects" of offensive line play.

I believe that the page has been turned. No longer on page 1 . . . . Smart and Company will not allow that. Will not take long. Predictions . . . . nope. Only prediction . . . . I feel we, you and I have finally stepped up. Have never seen anything like this in many years.

McGarity, listen, stay out of the way. Believe as some of us do that South Carolina came close . . . . you pulled the "trigger". Good on you for that, Sir.

I've stayed away for a while because I wanted to see what CKS was about. Apparently, the dude can recruit, no doubt about it. A friend of mine down here, who is an Alabama fan, said it best when he said "Georgia is off the chain with recruiting right now."
The thing about recruiting is that it goes to the heart of the program. CKS has immediately taken Georgia recruiting, which wasn't bad to start with, to another level. Probably going to be a top 5 program for many years. When players flip from good programs to Georgia, it tells you something is right.
Now, I want to see how he can coach. I think I'll give him three seasons to get "his" players in the program. Not expecting a national championship next year, but I'll bet a dollar to a dime that the Dawgs are better next year than the last. I think CKS understands the need to walk the walk, too, with respect to showing it on the field. I can't help but be positive about the program going forward, if the last few months have been any indicator. Definitely appears to be the shot in the arm this program needed with hiring CKS and his supporting staff.
