Find it interesting that Derek Dooley says Kirby Smart did a "smart" thing in hiring offensive coordinator and offensive line coach basically at the same time. Comparison Derek Dooley makes is that he and Muschamp failed to do the same when first being hired as head coaches. Not a shot at DD, just goes to show the nine years that Smart spent with Saban was another lesson learned. Dooley and Muschamp both come from the Saban coaching tree, one difference . . . . Time spent with Saban.
Muschamp got a second chance, now in Columbia. Left a very good situation in Texas before he was ready to take on the skills of coaching an entire team. Defensively, he is very good. While in Florida, failed miserably on the offensive side of the ball. Will see how much he learned about overall team management in his second attempt.
Dooley, not sure he will get another college head coaching job. His Dad, VD, also made several bad decisions, worst of which was not wanting Erk to take over at UGA. Never was there a doubt that Erk wanted to become the head coach in Athens. Left UGA and in my mind and way of thinking, did an incredible job at Georgia Southern. I still pull for the Eagles.
Back to Kirby Smart.

Watching our HC in practice…. Always moving you can see the wheels in his mind turning….. Leadership by example…. The very best kind….
You listen to him speak…his choice of words leads to respect…. Easy to understand… not looking to impress with flowering verbiage….. And not a word of coach speak….. This drives the media heads crazy…. They are looking for 500 words or more CKS says it in 5 and moves on…..
Watching our HC play the heads is like watching a boxer working a speed bag…. Pouty is behind and falling further behind with each practice….. dunce…. With no clue….
