Good Day All,

Sunday is spring a head day….. set your clocks one hour ahead

Saturday night….. can spring be getting closer?

Since the hire of CKS there has been pages written here and elsewhere about the nine years he spent at CNS side and learning from the master of college football coaching…. I agree that this played a large part in the development of our HC…. However, least us not forget Kirby’s skills as a coach started years prior to meeting and working for CNS.

Sonny Smart imparted all his football knowledge into to his son Kirby.

To hear the pride in Sonny’s voice talking about his son’s growth as a coach and an adult is hearing a father’s joy toward his child…

Sonny has a keen sense of humor…. With Kirby’s crammed schedule he hasn’t been able to spend as much time with his parents as they are use to.

CKS shared with the Macon Touchdown Club that he has recently received a text message from his dad… “ Your Mom and I would like to schedule an official visit” CKS said he think his Dad was slightly pissed… ya think…..

It is not missed on me that Sonny was a very successful high school football coach….. To me it explains were our HC learned his football teaching skills…. A very good thing….

It is apparent with each passing day something else pops up about our football programs failings over the past 15 years.

This is not to hash old stuff and beat a dead horse….rather to acknowledge even with all we identified ….we missed a ton that was Painted over or swept under the rug….. may we have learned a lesson not to be repeated….please……IMO the Row will never know how close we were to disaster ……

It is apparent that there was a current of displeasure with how compliancy had taken over our former HC…. That didn’t show until his departure…. As been stated here the number of bleeding hearts is shrinking….. but as we all know if we hit a bump the Nay Sayers will crawl out from beneath the rocks crying and squalling…look what you fools have done….. and a chorus of…. We told you so !!!!! will ring out…

Smile…. Because the Carney Barker has left the tent in Athens…… a very good thing…..

Below is a video that shows what Kirby Smart returning home means to so many of us. A serious change in the way football has been (mis)handled for far too long in Athens.

Coaches words and actions speak well to the changes that so many of us have wanted for a very long time. Not just coaches, appears from the video that the players are on board also. One butt chewing thus far from "Kirby", do not believe it went unnoticed after looking at the players in the video.

growl, hard to keep my emotions on a even keel.

Watching "all" of the coaches actions on the video certainly sends a message to me.

Remember well before Pruitt arriving in Athens, videos like this one did not come close to the intensity that I see from "all" of the coaches on this film. Remember the head coach walking around with his arms crossed, not looking like Kirby and Company did in this edition of Spring Practice.

Really liked what Scott Sinclair said on the video . . . . He is looking forward to "Summer Workouts". Mentioned that Summer is his time of the year to get the players ready. Be interesting to see how many players remain in Athens over the Summer. My bet is . . . . many or most. Coaches tend to notice things like that when Fall rolls around and playing time on Saturdays.

Now Coach Ellis is working with Scott as his assistant. Scott learned from Coach Ellis, says a lot about the two switching places, but showing nothing but respect for each other. Looking good to me. Tired of the "stuff" that went on for too long in Athens. Stability in the coaching ranks in the S&C area can really change a lot of the happenings on Saturday. I believe that.

Going to say this again . . . .

Coach Jeremy Pruitt and Company, I believe the short time that you coaches were together in Athens, changed our program maybe forever.

Not a doubt in my mind that some of the attitudes that changed were from the higher ups. Up until you arrived in Athens, too many were content and our program proved that to be true.

Really want to see the University of Georgia Football Team reach heights that some other universities have reached and it has been like a South Georgia sandspur for me. Not good memories of being "stuck" and we have been stuck in place for years. Said that also.

If you folks are interested enough in what Kirby Smart has done in the hiring department, might want to read the article below.

Promise you this, it will give a better insight into what is going on in Athens.

Anyone remember UGA/UCF in Memphis, Tennessee? I do.

Good chance reading the article, might come closer to understanding what great hires Smart and Company were for UGA.

Truthfully, talk is cheap and this group of coaches are not about "cheap talk".

Like Scott Sinclair said a couple of videos back, Summer time is "our time".
