Richt would have probably used him as a db or something stupid .Wartdawg wrote: .... and just imagine - had we not been asleep at the wheel and offered him before it became an obvious after-thought, we could have had Deshaun Watson.

But he'd have sure turned him into a fine young man who worked his tail off to finish the drill.

There were many, MANY names missed that went on reach huge accolades both collegiate and professionally. Anyone recognize the name Cam Newton or Derrick Henry? Yup, those are just two names in recent history that we had commitments from or never received one because we recruited them at a position other than QB/RB. Knowing where we've been at QB since AM's departure and realizing that Deshaun was in our backyard?!?!?!.....Sad......
We've turned a page, let the U ingest years of mediocrity, we got SMART....literally and figuratively!!!
GO DAWGS!!!!!!

Wouldn't be surprised after JE's SOPH season, to see a 4-5 star "running QB" sign, back up JE one year and then watch Chaney run the read option for 2 years.
That is coaching

Many of us are excited about the players that have chosen to play between the Hedges.
I like every named player that has committed to Georgia. Some have played on the edges, waiting a bit longer, feel sure there will be others.
Back to our new leader, Kirby Smart.
Smart in my opinion has changed the way football “will be played” between the edges and elsewhere in 2016 and beyond.
One of his first moves was to look at areas he knew needed some help. Offensive line for example. Sam Pittman, offensive line coach means as much to Georgia Football as any recruit we have coming on board in 2016.
Kirby Smart made the decision to keep Tracy Rocker and Kevin Sherrer from the group of coaches on board last season. Smart is not going to keep anyone on his staff that does not fit in with his way of moving UGA Football forward.
The coaching staffs that win football games in the SEC understand the only way for stars to be stars is to have offensive and defensive lines. The two lines will come up to speed quickly with the coaches that teach those portions of the team.
Many players decide to sign with Nick Saban for one reason . . . . they want to play for championships. True dat.
Media day is over in Arizona, and what was the media attention most focused on with the Alabama football team? I keep hearing offensive and defensive lines. That same offensive line that Derrick Henry runs behind. The defensive line that is being touted as every man on the defensive line will play in the NFL. Kirby Smart is bringing that area of expertise to Athens. Previous head coach did not have a clue.
Don't look now, but Dabo Sweeny understands also. He is in the NC game because he does understand. Jim McElwain definitely understands both sides of the ball. Can't say the same about Muschamp, good defensive coach, lacks understanding in “all areas” of building a team. Muschamp showed his weakness with the gators.
Kirby Smart and his staff will produce as coaches for one main reason . . . . They can take young men and coach them up. Not all can do that. Cited that example above with Muschamp.
Head Coach Nick Saban will miss Kirby Smart. Kirby Smart will miss Nick Saban. The two are never more than a phone call away from each other. Coaches serious about their profession are the same as recruited players often mention, the ties are there for a reason. Players like certain coaches, Kirby Smart has gone about the business of hiring coaches that he likes . . . . likes for reasons other than being family and friends.
Go Dawgs
After reading the link provided below, first thought that came to my mind was . . . . Ok, here they come, meaning the "bleeding hearts" are firing their opening shot, there will be more.
Most of what I read in the rest of the article has been said here. Almost like replaying a recording.
A lot of sitting on the fence will continue to happen.
My thoughts . . . . a cut and paste article.
Did notice the name of Jacob Eason in the article. Try this . . . . many good or great quarterbacks don't reach some of the heights many seem to think are easy. Do the right thing, build an offensive line. Then quarterbacks with top notch running back and receivers become "special". Football 101.

Thing is though.... I know very few people who actually think like that, and I am engaged enough to
know that often it isn't an accurate representation
of the majority of fans.
God Bless and Go Dawgs
