Kirby is coming from an "IMG PROPERTY"

IMG details: Alabama is an "IMG property" as is UGA. Check the difference out..

IMG property: University of Alabama
IMG College Client since 1998
Radio broadcast rights, television show rights, television broadcast rights, internet, endorsement and promotion rights, signage rights, game program rights, beverage rights and concession rights.

IMG Property: University of Georgia
IMG College Client since 2005
Corporate partner program, at-event impact, facility signage, scoreboard and other display signage, corporate hospitality rights, publications (game programs, annual programs and game day publications: football, men's basketball, women's basketball, gymnastics, baseball, fan guides, Olympic sport cards), promotional schedule cards, promotional schedule posters, new media/digital rights, television and radio.

Looking at the last post comparing Alabama and UGA relationship with IMG:

It appears that the team that did the best this year severely limits the role of IMG in their program.

In other words, the Alabama PR dept didn't tell the coach what to say as to not hurt the relationship with FoMoCo TV commercials. We pay the coach 4 mil so he can say what he needs to say and do what he needs to do without being controlled by sponsors. Mistake #1 with MR was he was a "IMG Property".

Head Coach 101: HC has to be an independent thinker that is concerned about players, staff, facilities and winning games. No endorsements. Completely separate from the PR dept and able to hold his own with ANYONE in a press conference.

I noticed that UNC is not on the IMG list.
Maybe that's why Roy Williams can do coke commercials while the campus sells pepsi.

We don't need IMG.
Georgia Football can market itself.

Perhaps our former president had other motives?

IMG has a large network. As does M&M. Homogenized. Winner not important. Net profits of investors is the goal. Get a coach that can teach the kids that winning is not important. (MR?)

IMG version of college ball... "One of the best youth marketing opportunities we have ever tapped." They get to manipulate the seasons to a certain extent.

TV shows up where the money is. They don't need to be led to the one IMG has positioned for this week's game if there is a better game. TV is so portable these days a game can be set up in a few days for national broadcast.

IMO: UGA can reap all the revenue they do now with a small on campus office with 3 staff members. One administrator, one attorney and one accountant.
