As Good Morning All,

It was a very wet and quite week in the Classic City.

The Q man will not play in our bowl game because of injury.

QH had his moments….flashes on ability…a good argument can be made that he was another player that went under developed by our former coaching staff.

There were issues with his effort and practice habits but that is a challenge for all who coach sports…..

QH….thank you…..DGD

Our blog has leaped ahead again…. threads and posts filled with

Substance and effort of thought covering Bulldog football….

It seems like there are some who can’t come to grips that we have a

New HC… it is like how could we ever fire such a winning coach..

Many stats have been put fourth to make claims for and against his record..

Several of the heads made the comment that while CMR won many games….he did not win the ones he needed to….. This happened to often …. Toss in losses to lesser teams you have the disaster know as Richting…… or Georgia being Georgia…..

Late in the season we on this board stepped up and separated MR the coach from MR the man…… we fired the HC for lack of performance…

The man and his good deeds that he done for the community and university will be missed…..for that we thank you… and wish you well.

Now with Chip Kelly on the market we hear again we could have done better a hiring a DC with no HC experience….

This is background noise….

Any new hire for any job is a risk……

Time is the test of how a person grows into the job and develops

CKS…..he has been groomed as well as anybody who has ever accepted the challenge of being a HC at a SEC school….IMO

His skill toolbox is filled and he has the self confidence to use them…

I am of the belief that his experience as a SEC…DC… and a former player

At a SEC school trumps hiring a HC who has had experience in a lesser conference……

When our bowl game on Saturday ends it closes in my mind what was the old….and moves us into a new era….

Let me say what a pleasure to see words like excitement and enthusiasm being used about the future of our football program….

Long overdue….

Great to hear from Dawgdoc……you are needed here to keep us grounded….

NCdawg…. Tipple a few for New Years and chuckle at those sticky feet people that think they are ready for prime time…. Stay well

This is the last BPS of 2015….Don't forget the Hoppin John on New Years

Been a ride…. DWS..Sadler….I hope it dries out so you can get a ride in before the real winter hits….

Now….. Roll Tide Roll

Dawgs win……. Let’s start 2016 win a “W”

Pause and give thanks

Have a safe New Years and a great week…

always “Go Dawgs”!!!!!

Go Dawgs!

QH was a DGD and everyone here knows what I think about the FB position. Under utilized here in my opinion... sure we used the FB position more than some others, but it was the nature of our offense to have and use it. I just wish we had done it a bit more. Everytime we did it seemed like we were surprising and gashing an opposing D.

I can't speak to work habits or anything else... not
in the know enough to know that, but what I do know is what happened when we did use him. If there were issues, maybe we just did a bad job of motivating him. Maybe he didn't respond well to the type of input we offered... can't say that's automatically a fault of his or if it's even true. I would say however that it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him play at another level after being motivated by someone else. He certainly has the tools.

Chip Kelly couldn't translate to the NFL. He wanted the NFL players and organizations to change more than he was willing to change to fit them. You've got to recognize the situation you are in though, and adapt as necessary. In my opinion Kelly failed pretty big time at that. Not so sure he could just waltz into the SEC either and repeat what he did elsewhere. It's a long way from Oregon to the SEC.

Personally, I would rather take my chances with somebody that's recruited and coached down here. I don't think Oregon would have accomplished near as much if they faced SEC defenses 8 times a year. I'm also not sure if an Oregon style D could take the pounding an SEC offense would have put on them week after week.

So like I said... I'll take what we've got already.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Wartdawg, like you I have no doubts that Quayvon Hicks was another very good player that was lost in the wash.

Quayvon Hicks will play in the NFL.

I am sold on the hires Kirby made on the offensive side of the ball. Doing my research as is normal for me.

Jim Chaney and Sam Pittman. Both have spent considerable time together. They understand what each wants, makes a big difference than hiring two coaches that have to "get to know each other".

This is another indicator that Smart has his "stuff" together. Nothing willy/nilly about the hires, shows leadership from where I sit.

Georgia often is referred to as "Running Back U" in the college world. That term will be continued to be used and my thoughts are, improved greatly with the hires made.

The change over from 2015 and before to 2016, not a doubt in my mind that Kirby Smart "knew" one of the missing links in UGA football that needed to be addressed immediately. Has been openly discussed on Dawgs.com for several years. Feel most of the members on this board pay close attention to the offensive line.

Jacob Eason coming to Athens, good thing. I have confidence that Jim Chaney will be the "right" coach for a young high school "star" that will now have a coach with a background of "teaching". This might be Jim Chaney's last stop as a college football coach. Same can probably be said for Sam Pittman.

The amount of talent that is within the five hour distance often mentioned, not a doubt that these two coaches will have talent the likes of which any offensive coach would love to be surrounded by.

Agree or disagree, watch Alabama/Michigan State, both teams have bad boys on the offensive fronts, along with running backs and quarterbacks that understand and appreciate the need for the "bad boys".

Best thing that could have happened for 2016 and beyond was hiring a head coach that right away took care of a problem area for UGA, hiring two coaches that will be appreciated not only by the players, fans will join in.

Go Dawgs, Penn State will come to play, means a lot to Franklin and his recruiting efforts in the Southeast.

Danny Kannell is pumping this loudly right now. I heard him say that AD's are probably scrambling to check if the ink has dried on the contracts they signed with the new HC's to see if maybe they could re-neg and hire Kelly.

I, for one, hope the ink has dried so much on our contract with CKS that the paper is starting to age.

Chip Kelly proved over and again at Oregon that every time he played a sound defensive line (i.e. Stanford), he lost his rear end. That Oregon nonsense of running 1000 plays a game and throw for 20000 yards a game is really cool when you're playing UCLA, Washington, or Colorado. But when the big boys come into town, they shut that crap down pretty damned quick. Kelly never once had a punishing offensive or defensive line, but he sure had the flashy skill players that lit up ESPN with highlights. Sound familiar?

The sources I've read, which are usually pretty accurate, say that Kelly wants to remain in the NFL. In fairness though, Philly is a brutal town to coach in. Unless he's willing to wait it out a season to get back into college, I see the most likely possibility being that he signs with another NFL team. There's going to be a lot of openings pop up next week after the final games, and I could see Miami making a pitch for him.

Here's why I'm glad Kelly didn't land at UGA. Besides the fact that Kelly's brand of football doesn't fit the SEC framework, Kelly had a lot of problems on his staff at Philly. Lots of reports of infighting, disagreements, player vs. coach conflicts, disciplinary problems, etc. We've had quite enough of that at UGA. I have no doubt that he could/can recruit, but the idea that we're going to have another great recruiter come in to put players into a scheme that is structured for failure? Yeah, keep on moving pal. No room for you here.

I'm very familiar, intimately familiar, with football and the South. Kelly doesn't have it. Believe me. CKS has it. Someone who was bred, born, raised, played, and coached it in the Southeast. The brand of football played from Florida to the Gulf Coast states, over to the Atlantic seaboard is a much different creature than the West coast. Now, that's not to say that if he's available next year at this time that Auburn won't make a big pitch for him. I'd say the same for LSU if the grass-eating Mad Hatter is out. No doubt that Kelly would make a big splash for Auburn that they need following the train wreck that has unfolded under Malzahn. But big splash or not, it doesn't translate into success in a conference that Kelly has no experience or understanding of.

Happy New Year to all the dawgs here. 2016 is going to be a lot of fun.

Article below I am in agreement with.

Tae Crowder will make some serious noise in Athens under the new offensive coordinator. Realize I have posted several thoughts on Tae, can only imagine him having another year with S&C. Tae Crowder will continue the use of the term "Running Back U".

Still having problems understanding what went wrong with AJ Turman. Would love to see Turman used in JAX. Big time talent. Reminds me a bit of Quayvon Hicks and how both were not used.
