Good Day All,

It was another eventful week in the CKS era.

Much to the relief of all we had good news that JE was staying with the Dawgs.

Great news that he will be on campus January to start learning our new offense.

It is my feeling that we will also reap name recruits who want to play with Skinny 10. A very good thing……

Again a big welcome to our new OC and OL coaches….

It struck me funny that some of the Heads have voiced that…

We could have done better than CJC for OC….

Next breath the back away from that by saying well I can live with it if was needed to get our OL coach in the deal…

Very same choir was singing that he is no better than CBS…. Say what??

The guy that made you wish for CMB’s return…..

Heads point to lack of NC’s and SECC as proof….. for this duo….

Excuse me…..that would rule out a very large group of well qualified coaches… anyone of which will at some future point will win the rings…

Does anyone with a heartbeat think that CKS could not have hired just one and not the other??

Odds on our HC being forced to take a bundle of 2….. are none

HC wanted both to work together as they have a history of compatibility…… CKS does not want to start with a staff who does not get along….. no egos or pissing contests……

Two points why they will do better here at Georgia

1. Better Talent here now….. better talent on the way….

2. Never had a Boss as successful as Kirby…..to work for….

Looking at the type of “O” s that CJC has fielded….

Heavy on TE uses…..Ball control….. all good things for a young green QB….

No question we are going to get big, strong and athletic on both the OL and DL….

Going to be interesting on how the rest of our assistant coaches shake out…and who our DC will be…

I feel more is known than what is being shared…

Happy CTomBrown staying

Interesting we had a WR change his mind about transferring by CBmac

It was pointed out here that may be noteworthy…..

Kirby knows about CBmac recruiting skills first hand…. Fingers crossed

CTR was not on hand for this past weekend’s gala for recruits….hmmm

Also interesting coaches who are staying and coaching our bowl game

I am looking forward to see the play calling… reminds me of

A pickup game shirts vs skins…… I am hearing players having fun with the Fill in coaches…..

Several sites saying that our bowl game is an audition for several coaching positions….

IHMO new OC was viewing more than players during practice……..

I would think HC would seek input from his OC as to who will fill out the “O” staff……

Speaking for myself I am enjoying the new….news…. in place of the reheated mush we have been served for too many years.

Pause and give thanks

Ho Ho next week….. Remember the reason for the season…..

If anyone questions…..it is a Christmas tree……..

Have a great weekend and a safe week

As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

What a difference a year makes. :)

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of close games this next year due to a more balanced attack and a more disciplined, tougher defense, and I will not be surprised to see most of them end in UGA's favor.

Can see where this will be a good year to start reaping the benefits of that foundation we're working on.

I like the way things are moving, kind of like a locomotive, slow at first but you can sense the motivation building.

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

Glad that Kirby Smart is our head coach.

Glad that Jeremy Pruitt returned to his home site.

Not sure, worried a bit about Tracy Rocker. Believe there is better than a 50/50 chance he takes his enormous talents to Miami. Would not be surprised to see Rocker named defensive coordinator for the "U".

Biggest loss in my humble opinion would be Bryan McClendon. Not just from a "recruiting standpoint" . . . . anyone that thinks that BMac's only contribution to UGA is recruiting, missing the damn boat. He is a great football coach. I am told by those that I chat with that Pruitt and BMac were "tight".

Takes me to this . . . . Program belongs to Head Coach Kirby Smart. Going to be a lot of "chatter" about coaches leaving, players deciding not to honor their original commit.

Head Coach Kirby Smart did not take the position in Athens fearing that he could not get the job done. Kirby Smart is all about "football", the rest of the "stuff" . . . . will take care of itself.

First real hire by Kirby Smart . . . . offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Did he see something that the previous folks did not? I think so.

Chief, you are spot on, will take some time to pull everything together, but not . . . . that long. Finally have the missing link in the Classic City . . . . Leadership.

Go Dawgs, good read yankeedawg1, much in the thread to chat about, and I have never been accused of being "silent" . . . . :)

Good stuff Yankeedawg.

I will admit that I was let down by Pruitt heading back to Bama. He's going to have those boys playing ball - no question. That being said, I am trusting enough in CKS' football sense to know that he had a valid reason for not retaining Pruitt. Could it be that he knew he only would have had him as a DC until UGA made a serious run at a natty? Possibly. Let him have two successful seasons under Saban with amazing defensive numbers and there'll be no shortage of Pruitt name dropping for HC vacancies at the end of each season. Could it be that CKS wants to groom a little Kirby, much like Saban did, and have him with UGA for many years to come before he sheds his puppy coat and scampers off to his own head coaching gig? Possibly. Who knows.

I'm perfectly comfortable, unlike so many of our contemporaries (particularly in the media) today to accept the fact that I don't have a right to know everything. CKS had his reasons, and I'm fine with his decision, even if I am disappointed by it.

I have a feeling that B-Mac and Rocker are going to be retained. I really want to see B-Mac stay. He is almost as much of a part of this program as the grass on the field is. His recruiting is stellar and he is embedded in the "G". Sale will probably land with Richt in Miami, or who knows, maybe we'll do a swap-a-roo and Sale will land in Arkansas.

DC rumors I've heard from a good dawg buddy at home with his nose to the scent trail is that this bowl game might be a DC try out for Sherrer. He made the point to me: "Look, we don't need some stud DC. We need a DC that Kirby can mold into a carbon copy of him. To think, teach, direct, coach, educate, mentor, and develop talent like he can. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we end up with Sherrer as DC."

Of course, we'll be treated to the usual media types reminding us how CKS couldn't find anyone, yada yada yada.

I will say this...

If we come flying out of the dog house next season like a bat out of hell and head into Jacksonville 7-0, I'm willing to bet we'll be more apt to hear a mouse pissin on cotton than we will the naysayers and media types admitting that they were wrong about the coaching change and the personnel appointments.

Get on board now, because there's no room on this trail for bandwagons.

We now have a head coach who meets the job description.
Finally the Richt regime is over.

The program is on the way up.
McGarity get the hell out of the way.
