I always enjoyed Eddie Lebaron, he was a great inspiration to me, I thought he was great. Loved watching him and the Skins every Sunday. When I was stationed in D.C. Got to go the games and watched Dick Butz and the rest of the "Hogs" road grade.

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

The foundation that Buc speaks of I think is evidenced in the simple fact that personnel who arrived on the scene are football guys. This isn't a cult of personality any longer, where we're going accept institutionalized mediocrity so that players can feel good about themselves and develop emotionally as they achieve their degrees in nothingness. You listen to CKS or CJC talk and you hear men talking that know the game, the ins and outs, and are out-and-out diagnosticians of a team's problems. How long did it take Kirby to put the blade to the skin? 1 day? No depth in our roster and no formidable lines. That wasn't hard was it? Like a competent surgeon removing a growth. All in a day's work.

Did anyone see the pics of the new coaches standing around watching bowl practice yesterday? See the look on Pittman's face?

That says it all.

For years, we've had players that wanted to come to Georgia to play for Coach Richt. Believe me, in 3-4 seasons, we're going to start hearing players say they came to Georgia to be part of a culture of championship caliber football.

That's what "the foundation" brings.

Did see the photo, draw the same conclusion that you did.

wlayton brought Derrick Henry to Dawgs.com's attention, while he was still in high school. wlayton was on point.

Below is a good read if some have not.

More of that offensive line talk, not the flash and dash the press wanted from Derrick Henry. Reminds me a lot of what AM brought to Athens. Not a "me" a "we".

Good on you Derrick Henry, Heisman Trophy winner, "Team" player.

Originally Derrick Henry was going to play for UGA. Changed to UA as we are all aware of.

Reason below . . . .

It doesn't matter that this is football (in the context of building a great organization.) You can check this: all of the great leaders of ANY outfit have known a simple truth, that to succeed, you need to surround yourself with great people. KS knows this, and I'm going out on a limb and saying that CMR did not. Yes, there is value in loyalty, but that value has an expiration date. If you want to truly excel, you forgo personal friendship and loyalty for the superstars and high performers. THOSE people will get your team to where it needs to be. Kirby Smart seems to understand this intrinsically. He cannot do it by himself. CANNOT. But if he brings the stars of the coaching world to Athens, look out. I don't think we'll see another Willie Martinez situation in Athens for a long time. Good things are coming. Go Dawgs.

^^^^^agree or not, truth^^^^^

LimeyDawg, think I read where Richt's son Jon is going to join the staff in Miami, will check that to be sure. All of us want what is best for our families, comes a point when the "fans" matter as much as the "family" in the "business world of college football". One of Bobby Bowden's downfalls at FSU.
