My wife spent many years at the VA.
Counseled them, consoled them.
Those heroes have spent their lives in guilt because they survived and their buddies died.
We have to do better for them.

God bless your wife and you averagedawg.

A lot of corruption in the VA at this point, which I am sure you are aware of. Breaks my heart. Greed is worse than some diseases. Guess it is a disease.

Looking at some of the goings on in D1 football, the money being laid out, and then I take a look at the Veterans that can't get care. Will stop, but . . . .

This is the one subject that takes my mind completely off of football because it is so important to our society. Whether some realize it or not.

Thanks for stepping forward, when others chose to step back.

The sun shines on a different Dawg every day

50,000 lost at Vietnam. About 10 years after Vietnam is when they discovered PTSD and started treating it.

The VA should be high tech and responsive like our military. No excuse for less.

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

PTSD. 'Discovered' after Vietnam. After that it was recognized as an official diagnosis that VA had to deal with.

I do not know one WW2 vet that talked about killing people in hand to hand combat like they did on Iwo Jima. They didn't talk about any part of the war. They were told to suppress it.

PTSD - POST traumatic stress syndrome
