It first dawned on me that in academic circles this is referred to as "attaining tenure". Then it FURTHER dawned on me that Loser is one of a VERY select few who ever achieved it in a football coaching position, and that the others who managed to "attain coaching tenure" were much older when they attained it.
What this means is that, depending on Losers willingness to continue to draw a fat paycheck for accomplishing nothing, we could conceivably be stuck with him for another twenty years. See "Bobby Bowden" and "Joe Paterno" for other examples. Except that they at least accomplished National Championships PRIOR to "attaining tenure".
They say "close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades" but apparently it also counts for coaches at UGA.
