Just watched Eason play 3 quarters and I learned a lot about our future QB. Goods first: the kid has a cannon with tons of zip. He is extremely accurate and throws a nice tight spiral. Being that he is 6'5ish he can see the field amazingly well and reads coverage pretty good. The bads: some mechanic issues with setting his feet. Isn't allowed to check down or make on the fly reads. Ran all of his plays out of the shotgun.

All of the bads look to be REALLY easy fixes. He is a very confident kid in his abilities and isn't afraid to sling it. My biggest worries again is that he plays against some VERY WEAK comp. Those corners were extremly slow compared to what you see in Ga HS football. A lot of the passes he made tonight would NOT fly in HS around here. It concerns me a little but I'm sure he will catch up to speed pretty fast. I just hope the transition doesn't crush his confidence because some of those throws he made tonight will not work at the next level.

I'm still very impressed with his attributes and if coached up this kid will do some great things I believe. If he stumbles out the gate then don't be surprised to see Hockman take his job in 17 because that kid is the real deal fellows! Not taking anything away from Eason by making that comment about Hockman that's just my opinion on how good I think Hockman is going to be.

All in all I like what I saw but the talent level he faces really does scare me...

sflanagan21 if you have not read this article already, think you will understand why I am placing it here.

Tre Nixon I can speak to and it basically comes first hand.

EDIT: Not knocking Ball, he was set in his way of coaching. grantham, set in his way of coaching, goes on and on, not telling anyone anything. Personally I like the skills of BMac. Excellent recruiter and knows what he needs if Eason's arm and skills are all that.

sf21, appears that one lesson has been learned in Athens. Recruiting offensive linemen. Eason's arm, wideouts with speed and wiggle. Looking at our tightends, very talented and still in the running for the #1 tightend in the country. I really like Harris #88, I believe he is the "bomb". What all of this leads to is opening up lanes for our running backs.

So, what did I say above . . . . don't get on me fellows . . . ."wait till next year".

So I will cover my butt. The only thing that can ruin all of that talent is . . . . same thing that ruins us every year . . . . coaching.

Here we are waiting for the 7th game of the year, sitting at 4-2, looking 4-3 straight in the eyeballs . . . and saying . . . "wait until next year".

You know what? I'm not saying that anymore, because "next year" will be just like "this year", and "last year" and "the year before that".

A new HC . . . a REAL HC could come in, straighten the place up and install a new attitude. What if he fails? Replace him and get a new one. What if that one fails . . . new one. Repeat until SUCCESS.

For John Leonard - someday we will have no choice but to replace the HC, one way or another. Or we can continue to "enjoy" Above-average-ville.

For Mark Richt - you are rich. Retire. Quit wasting our time and yours.

For Eason - get yourself ready to play against REAL DBs. Those children you are beating in HS look like I did 40 years ago because they are basically the same as I was - short and slow. Play someone before you get to Athens, young man.

To think we could have had Deshaun Watson if our coach had any sense at all. Clemson is for real and Watson may very well be on his way to a NC! Kid was just waiting on an offer from his home state team. The entire family are (were) die hard Dawg fans. Watson dreamed of playing for and representing the G. He wouldn't fit our offense is bull sh*t! Richt has robbed us once again of a great player that was fully committed to be a Dawg, kid was just waiting on an offer. I know Watson pretty well and I'm pulling for him and Clemson to win it all...

GO DAWGS
