Just reporting some of the things that could be plaguing the system in Athens.
Some academic discussion on the matter.

Coaches are managers.

The theory:
The Peter principle is a concept in management theory formulated by Laurence J. Peter in which the selection of a candidate for a position is based on the candidate's performance in their current role, rather than on abilities relevant to the intended role. Thus, employees only stop being promoted once they can no longer perform effectively, and "managers rise to the level of their incompetence."

More beautiful fall weather in N GA. A little chilly and had to put on another layer.
Have a good one.

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

There will be no putting in of players like Bauta to build for next year because there us no next year for Bauta as far as our plans go. For his sake he should just move on to a school that will give him a legitimate shot for something more than the scout team.

Remember when you are talking about next year... you're talking about a guy who pissed away an entire year of Moreno's time here despite the fact everyone on the planet knew he was bolting for the
NFL as soon as it was allowed. We're going to probably sit here and watch it again.

We here have faced the facts about Richt. He's
not here to win football games. He's here to always protect HIS OWN tomorrow with a promise of wait
till next season. If he can have an ace he can keep in the hole when things are rough today so he can secure himself for the following year, then that is what he will do. He's the man to get us there if we just hang with him... if we just stay the course.

He's been able to secure his salary for a decade based on that. It's always going to be like that. A promise for tomorrow is always better than winning today, because then all he has to live up to is a dream.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Many comments yesterday by the commentators about the youth being played in 2015 games.

This goes back a ways. This board had some lively discussions about doing things the "Georgia Way". Some or many of us said we like the term "Georgia Way", why not incorporate some of what we have seen happening in Tuscaloosa since Nick Saban arrived called the "Alabama Way".

I do believe that we, Georgia is in a building phase that has been needed for more than just 15 years.

I watched players stop waving their arms and moving to the "first step" of copying the "Alabama Way". Actually started with Coach Will Friend. Moved from there to Jeremy Pruitt. Soon after that Tracy Rocker arrived. While not a Tuscaloosa man, Rocker participated in sports in Alabama and accomplished much. Hiring of the other coaches were pretty much like the "Alabama Way", that included after a short period Mark Hocke.

Where is all of this going . . . . I watched our defensive guys stop Missouri on our goal line. That line of scrimmage was no place for boys, grown up football was played there by . . . . young players that have bought into the "Georgia/Alabama Way". My opinion.

I also tried to play close attention to how we did physically, especially in the second half. Did not see some of the "stuff" that happened prior to Pruitt and Company. Yes, lots of substitutions, smart football, but my thoughts there are we are in the second year of building a more than respectable defense. I believe we have the right coaches on the defensive side of the ball. Care less if Missouri has less than a top notch offense. Our young players were "flying" all over the field. Tackle at the goal line by a "flying player" prevented a touchdown. Outcome was positive.

Alabama has learned how to play football on both sides of the ball. That is why they recruit so well, year after year . . . . they are playing "Alabama Football". They not only play well most game days, they recruit well and have since Nick Saban and Kirby Smart took over. By the way, Kirby Smart took over coaching defensive backs again this season . . . . anyone see Kirby yesterday running down the sidelines on one of the "pick sixes".

We are not there yet, but defensively we are a step closer. Trenton Thompson is a man, Missouri players found out first hand.

Defense played well. Great to see those pups become Dawgs. I really enjoyed watching the defense play.

Offense, Well, we keep running Michel so much, I am afraid the kid is going to end up hurt. Assuming there are no changes to the offense, a safe assumption, lather Marshall up and let him shine.

I am no expert but I could predict pretty much every play call.

An ugly win but I really enjoyed watching Pruett's kids play ball.

averagedawg you and I both understand that it takes the right type of person/coach to make things happen. Nick Saban knew he wanted and needed Kirby Smart. Same can be said for Kirby. Stayed put, was being offered the defensive coordinator position. Best piece of advice that Kirby got was from Nick. Any place that Kirby wants to go now, he will be welcomed with open arms and a truckload of money. Muschamp tried to move too fast and . . . .

Kirby also knew the problems in Athens were not the fans, and he saw the turnovers that resulted in coaches for some reason not "getting it done" under our head coach. Patience is a virtue. Proven when Kirby remained with Nick. Fact.

Totally agree with you on Sony Michel. He is no different than Nick Chubb, will bust his butt for that extra yard. That is exactly what happened to Nick Chubb when injured. Trying to make something happen that was not a designed play, not his bad, just playing the game the only way he knows how.

Was really glad to see Todd Gurley on the sideline with Nick Chubb. Todd Gurley will be a benefit to Georgia in more ways than one. At some point there will be talent and he will be the reason for them selecting UGA.

Believe it was proven yesterday that Theus will be a guard if he plays in the NFL. NFL is loaded with players with as much or more talent than he faced yesterday. That is not cutting Theus, could very well be that he should be playing guard or right tackle, as he did early on.

If the play calling is the same in JAX, not going to be a fun game for many. Long ride back to North Georgia, much easier when we give ourselves a "chance to win". Like DAWGtm posted in this thread . . . . It sure is a sad day when you miss bobo's play calling.

Still in my opinion, falls at the feet of Richt. He wears the big hat.

EDIT. . . . Editor of this article should be asking the head coach questions, not the AJC and ABH representatives.

From what I see is wrong with our O is the continuity is not there from the line that's been together for so long but doesn't play like it. To a QB that's not on the same page as his WR's and even if he was on the same page not sure he has the vision but he does have luck should have had at least four more interception's. Our strong point is our RB's even though the play calling makes their job harder. Back in the spring the players committed on how fast CBS was installing plays maybe that is showing now. I much rather have fewer plays that we execute well that a lot of plays that are executed poorly. One more thing to whoever is calling the game how bout before you call for the home run ball lets get into the flow of the game. How many times yesterday did we have a decent drive started just to miss on the long ball and get behind the chains. I'm not claiming to be a football guru just a guy that sits in his recliner watching and cheering on his DAWGS.
