Question.
Why did we (UGA) all of a sudden decide that everything that was going on with our football program needed a wholesale overhaul?
Do those that follow UGA football see any significant changes being made in Athens?
Why is it that most of our new hires somehow have the State of Alabama football programs seeping into our UGA program?
Anyone believe that McGarity and Richt are the best of friends as of today?
Who runs the football program in Athens? McGarity or Richt?
When was the last time that someone in the Classic City involved with the football program stood up and called the Mahogany Row folks out? That includes McGarity and Richt. While the two might not have a seat at the table, they do have a voice. The loudest voice that for too long was the quiet and agreeing voice was Mark Richt.
Regardless of which side any of us are on, (meaning pro Richt or anti Richt) unless I miss my guess (again) I see a different kind of coaching and teaching talent reaching our “shores”.
Believe I see this. Without our head coach saying it publicly, Mark Richt has “asked for help”. If not, looking at some of the recent hires, maybe my glasses need to be cleaned.
Not asking Mark Richt to get on his knees, (don't play with that statement, made from a different direction than some might want to go) hoping against hope that somewhere in his “Head Coaching Brain” he will not make the same mistakes that his mentor made.
Explanation, again. Bobby Bowden was good for a lot of years. Took a girls school to National Championship Football. Don't jump the “girls school” statement, I am pro almost everything female. Girls (at this time) don't play college football. Would not rule that out either.
Why did I post the above paragraph? I see Richt trying to move forward, he however does not have the skills to do that if we (you and I) are looking forward to playing in the final four at this time.
Often say when posting, Richt just stay out of the way. Have had a few emails that give me some “flack” with my position. Actually love the “flack” . . . . have history on my side, have lived it, watched it, believe in my position. I am not a “newbie” at the game of football, especially Georgia Football.
From where I sit, there is a lot to talk about DWS, just have to get past the “silence”.
