wlayton, this one section that I pulled from your post above has been the rule for as long as I can remember.
Most everyone "scratches the backs that scratch theirs"........unfortunately that's cosidered good business and actually probably true.
I have scratched and been scratched, know that world well.
My problem with the University of Georgia is that all too often we hear from those that "work" there, this statement . . . . Speaking particularly to the football team. We run a good program, our rules are much stricter for those that come to Athens than those attending other SEC schools. Some of that is true. When we move up the ladder, the truth stops.
Ready for this, speaking to the board.
Want to win a National Championship? Will not happen under the structure that exists in Athens. Many pats on the back for running what "some" think is a clean operation.
At some point and it is very soon, those making the coin had better believe that things are going to change. College is a click away from becoming professional. That also bothers the NFL.
Am I so simple minded that I think it is only Georgia, nope. Can't speak for the others, can only chirp about what I see and know.
There is some hypocrisy in Georgia athletics, football especially. I present the following your honor . . . .
The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense. I said that.
