CJP gets a 1.3 million raise an a year added to contract .

Pruitt had two years left on his original contract of $850,000 per year, and this adds a year back.

"Our defense has performed overall at a very high level this season and much of it is due to Jeremy’s leadership,” UGA coach Mark Richt said in a statement. "It’s important that we solidify his tenure at Georgia and continue to build our defense in all areas including recruiting, coaching and player development."

Yeah sadler... I never thought there was anything going to come of that storm that was going to flare up after the bowl.

I'm glad to see a CJP raise/extension... BM needs a substantial one as well.

I'll not say much else about any other contract enhancements.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Interesting.

Many thought nothing would come of the storm. From where I sit, something did.

Shows just how good the Public Relations group is working for those that want everything to remain the same. Appears again they are closer to getting away with it.

Smart move taking care of Jeremy Pruitt's yearly income, prior to doing same with Mark Richt's fiancial gain.

If Richt's package had been announced first, there would have been flack coming from many quarters. Those that post about 9-3 records. Yes, myself included. PR firm smart in this instance, what they get paid for, reason they keep their jobs.

Show one and all that McGarity is serious about football in Athens. Athletic Director was under fire, needed help from "professionals" and got same.

PR group stepped in on this one, that's right, the PR group said step aside McGarity, don't need your help in patching up and keeping the fans unknowing. You don't understand how that is done, we do.

Will Friend leaving, LSU Defensive Coordinator Chavis signing on with TAM, many Georgia fans not happy, put the big numbers on the one coach that has actually saved Mark Richt's butt, Jeremy Pruitt.

Jeremy Pruitt brought the work ethic to Athens. A work ethic that prior to his arrival was missing from many, including the head coach. Say what anyone wants, Pruitt "barked" and where did that get him . . . . best I can see is 1.3 million dollar annual salary. Pruitt forced McGarity and Richt's hand. Pruitt won. Pruitt comes from a strong background of hard working football coaches, could care less about upstairs BS.

Yes, something did happen that needed to happen. No, all was not well in Athens prior to this. PR group put their finger in the hole in the dike. Now giving Mark Richt, he of the "pooch kick" and many other game losing mistakes on the sideline will be easier because the PR group did what they are hired for. Been there done that, understand how it works. Worked for a major firm in Atlanta in the late 1960's on Peachtree Street, a firm that had a serious Mahogany Row, at the time a 60 million dollar firm, in that era, huge firm. Involved with the Atlanta Braves, and others.

Say again, a piece of work by those that are very sharp, don't make 1.3 million a year, but their salaries are in 6 figures. Bet that.

A win for those of us that believe Pruitt is good for the program. Now I want to hear what Richt receives for his work. This will be an interesting PR evaluation for me, just how good is this group.

Glad we keep Pruitt but I still don't see this as quite the earth shattering storm it was made out to be. Good, yes. Will it drastically change UGA football for the long term? I guess it remains to be seen, but as long as richt is in charge, I'm guessing not.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

sadlerdawg, has been said by you, myself and others. Head coach is going nowhere. This is the one person in Athens that has entrance to ESPN in Connecticut. McGarity or anyone else from Athens do not have the entrance that Richt does. Richt, meyer are solid with Disney. If there was a departure from Athens, which there will not be, would not be the head coach. New extension and raise guarantee that.

Head coach said that 10 wins was the only thing on his mind prior to the Belk Bowl. Anyone that thinks Richt was not aware of receiving more, and the meaning of 10 wins to the Group in Athens, not paying attention, or are not aware. Head coach is about financial gain. Most folks are, just seems to me that too much jack is being handed out for less than a top flight coaching effort.

Now we will get the releases from the Public Relations Department, prepared statements through McGarity that other coaches will be rewarded for their efforts. That will satisfy many that do not want to see real change in Athens.

IMG and the rest of the Group will play the recruiting LOI portion in February up big time. Their cannons are loaded, will see more "stuff" from them in the next month than has been seen in years. Bet that.

The biggest piece of PR work will be about the Indoor Practice Facility. First off, it is known by those in charge where the facility will be built. Anyone believes different, oh well. Again, PR will lead McGarity through the darkness and have him look like a great hire for the University of Georgia.

Something might have changed, but it's not the change those who were talking about the big storm insinuated would happen.
