Talk about an enthusiastic S&C Coach. Served under Scott Cochran at Alabama. About time we got some "added life" into our football program.
Realize the following youtube video has been posted here before (me), never hurts to "review". Was always told that "practice makes perfect".
Anyone serving under Scott Cochran, whether assistant coach or player, some of the "stuff" is bound to rub off.
Welcome Mark Hocke. Alabama gang grows in Athens.
Georgia has issued the following release:
University of Alabama Co-Associate Football Strength and Conditioning coach Mark Hocke has been named Director of Strength and Conditioning at the University of Georgia according to an announcement Sunday by UGA head coach Mark Richt.
“After a national search we’re excited to have Mark Hocke joining our staff as head of our strength and conditioning program,” said Richt. “It’s an important position that is essential to the success of our program moving forward in the years to come.”
Hocke has served the past six years under Alabama Director of Strength and Conditioning Scott Cochran. During that time, he has been part of a program that has won three SEC championships, three national championships (and playing for another), and 72 games in the last six seasons.
While serving at Alabama, Hocke helped developed several NFL draft choices including first rounders Dre Kirkpatrick, Julio Jones and Mark Ingram.
“Mark received some outstanding recommendations from those in the industry and is known for his high energy, ability to motivate and relate to his athletes, as well as develop them mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially,” said Richt. “We’ll introduce Mark to our team in Charlotte on Wednesday and give him the opportunity to get to know our team throughout bowl week. This will allow him to be better prepared as we begin our training program in January.”

Buc I almost posted the question. Would we look for Bamw guy for a S & C leader. Seems like CMR wants to maintain
The togetherness of our assistant coaches. HC didn't mess around went right to the source
I only can imagine that CJP and CWF had some input. Ya think. Now I will ask. If CMB leaves...
I for one believe he will go big on a replacement. Go Dawgs

yankeedawg1, you and I are on the same page if we think that the "Athens Alabama Gang" now located in Athens had anything to do with hiring our new S&C Coach.
Another thought that I keep in my mind when I speak of the group from Alabama is Tracy Rocker. Different college, but the same GATA that is returning to UGA.
Richt needed assistance in hiring someone again. He as has been said before had a hard time finding a Defensive Coordinator, prior to the hiring of grantham.
These young sprouts of coaches with Alabama roots don't have that "wait and see" attitude that McGarity likes to use.
From where I sit . . . . PROGRESS.

Getting serious. Mark Richt said he has an alternate plan. Looking like Mike Bobo is very close to becoming the head coach at Colorado State. Think it will be good for him.
