Looks like Jayson Stanley will play football in Athens. Another Bryan McClendon save.

Lose Shaquery Wilson. Wilson was recruited by Jeremy Pruitt.

D'Andre Walker, another outstanding player that was recruited jointly by Bryan McClendon and Kevin Sherrer.

Amazing how often the Bryan McClendon name pops up, eh . . . .

Wilson wanted to play WR...UGA said they would give him a look there but wanted him as a DB. WVA wants him as a WR. Same old same old...Newton as TE N Marshall as DB...looks like so far 6 de commits....that is an quite a few that are looking for greener pastures...and it may not be over with the de commits...

ogredawg, have noticed that our head coach is moving around more in recruiting circles it seems. The 2015 Class has been described by some to be one of the best ever. As you say, it ain't over till it's over. For some reason I am feeling an uneasiness about more than one commit.

Would add this. Seems there is always a group that believes if we get our top ranked two or three recruits, all will be ok. Does not work like that.

One thing to have a group of BMOC in high school sign, then moving on to college football find out that players that play as if entitled, have no chance to participate in the Final Four.

Recently have thought about the talent that has suited up in the Red and Black, and then see where winning against Louisville in the Belk Bowl for our tenth win was a must. A must to keep the fans from moving a step further away from the way football is "not" being played.

Don't know "exactly" what happened in JAX, but do know what "did" happen in Columbia, South Carolina and between the Hedges in Athens. Cannot in good conscience lay all of it on the players and not recognize the real issue. Won't go there today. Some on this board know.

yankeedawg1, I believe this to be as close to the truth as I can get.

These young players get their heads filled with "everything". However, most of these young men, and especially the more talented young players coming out each year are looking primarily for a "chance to play" right away. They have shown how good they are at a lower level but . . . . they also look at positions and depth charts of colleges recruiting them.

Many or most of these high school coaches help these young men with their decisions. High school coaches don't sign on the dotted line, but they are very influential, and quite frankly most high school coaches know which teams and coaches can/will be a better fit for the players. Guarantee there are some on this board that always had a special feeling for their high school football coach. I still do.

Moms, Dads, family and friends also play a role in where these young men will play. Some get good guidance and counsel, while others are left to fend for themselves.

Example: Van Jefferson's Dad wanted him to sign with Georgia, Mom wanted him to sign with Ole Miss.

This will be a very interesting class to look over once the LOI's are in place. Not many in this class will become starters right away, or maybe this year. Quite frankly . . . . that is the Alabama way and that has been a very successful script.

Another article from the AJC.

Went to another site and watched this young man on film. Below in italics I pulled from the article what a scout had to say about Hawkins. Hawkins is every bit the player his coach describes. Definitely a defensive lineman.

Allow me this . . . . looks like the spitting image of a Auburn player that we don't have good feelings about. Yep, "that player" is now on the Detroit Lions defensive line. Cheap shot artist that lowered the chicken spit boom on AM.

Here’s a scouting report on Hawkins: “I love that kid. He’s a baller. He’s going to end up in the NFL. He’s really, really good. He has to work on his grades. He’s 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds. I love that kid. He’s a (bleeping) freak of nature. And he doesn’t even know what he’s doing on the football field yet … but he’s so explosive and strong. When this kid gets to college and learns how to play the position, he’s going to be unbelievable. If he had better grades, he’d have offers from everybody. He’s just a freak.”
