2015 Recruits -- Another Loaded Class

9 years 11 months ago #65366 by Buc
Looking over the article below, reason being, some of the "same" year after year "stuff" continues . . . . from all quarters.

Question. What has changed? Going back and looking at past recruiting classes? Checking those classes out, here is hoping that the new group of coaches in Athens don't follow the past mistakes made under those that "own" our program.

Going to say this, because I think it is a real statement. I do not believe that Mark Richt can and will get "our" football team together. I am glad that we have coaches that don't seem to follow our head coach when it comes to playing in the SEC.

Get real here. Mike Bobo is and has been under Mark Richt's thumb, just like Willie Martinez was. Difference between Willie and Mike, head coach since moving to Athens has been all over trying to score points. Head coach has not and still does not understand that winning SEC Championships comes from first off, getting a SEC defense on the field. Richt does not understand that, or . . . . accept it. If I am wrong, point me in the right direction and give me a time when that happened.

Nick Saban understands SEC football, must have a defense. What did Saban do? Hired Lane Kiffin to come in and "develop" an offense that could play in unison with his defense. Again, our head coach does not have a clue, has never been exposed to defensive football, especially since arriving in Athens. Players not the problem look at the 2015 recruits, the "sheeples" will tell all that listen, 2015 is the year, 2016 at the latest.

The "disciples" will believe anything that is thrown in their direction . . . . as long as it "protects Mark Richt".

Good to see you back fire_dawg.

Took a look at Louisville's 2013/2014/2015 "star recruits".

Overall record same as ours this season. Another case of a coaching staff that can and will coach 2/3/4 "star" rated athletes up.

Refuse to be led down the path, again.

Good post, Special Teams continue to have folks like you, me and others having our say. At this point reminds me of our head coach and his pressers . . . . he is in control.

Edit: Guess it is only fair to list these "Stars" for Georgia recruits 13/14/15.

Goes along with Wartdawg's post about "survival" in the coaching and media ranks. Truth.

Seems sometimes athletes that are on our football team are not totally forgotten, but some that were recruited in past years and are still on the team are close to forgotten. Certain names of athletes are kept alive in the press, makes sense, need folks to peruse their articles.

However, the earlier recruits that have worked their butts off behind others that came before them go through the same thing, watching the "newbies" gather the media attention. While most or many of the 2015 Class of Recruits will do the same sitting and learning that those before them have done. Athleticism is one thing, understanding the playbook is "critical". Playbook is extensive, film work critical, practice shows improvement or not.

Below are three links that list players from 2013, 2014, and possibly 2015 Classes. When I look over the players that remain in Athens, know a lot about their high school and now college talent levels, makes my eyes widen.

Some of the players listed on the links have either flipped, gone on to the NFL or whatever (drugs, discontent etc).

What gets my attention are the players that remain prior to the 2015 LOI's. For the first time in many years, there is depth, more depth than I can remember. With talent such as exists in Athens in 2015, will be interesting to see how we perfrom.

Have time, look the three recruiting years over, interesting, especially from a depth perspective.
