Am I worried about the recent hiring at Florida, yes.
McElwain has made the necessary steps to take on a job like the one he just signed on to. Wet behind the ears he is not.
Soon I will probably have nightmares about going through some of the same things that meyer put us through. Recently have not heard many on this board and others worrying about the gators. I am worried about the gators, they now have a head coach that has everything needed to put them back out front. Would not be surprised to see the gators step up in 2015.
Some seem to think that turning a program around cannot be done in one or two years. I say look at what Gus Malzahn did at Auburn. Look what happened in Tuscaloosa soon after Nick Saban took charge.
Something that disgusts me is the talking heads referring to Fullmer being released by Tennessee and what happened after that.
What happened was this. Lane Kiffin rode up and had the attention of every SEC school. Got caught up in his "glory" and returned to the West Coast.
Then Derek Dooley because of his last name was presented the head coaching job.
Interim coach Jim Chaney took over while Tennessee looked for a "real head coach".
Now they have Butch Jones and he is going to be a problem, same as Jim McElwein. Anyone taking notice of where Tennessee's efforts are in the recruiting arena?
Amazing the "stoopid" stuff that comes out of the mouth of folks like Barnhart. Another of those that does not understand that a program can be turned around in a short time, as has been done as noted above.
SEC East is going to change. Not sure that everyone in the SEC East understands what the "others" are up to. Will see soon enough.
