Wartdawg, you make a point that I feel many don't think about. The post you made above in my opinion comes from someone with a real understanding of American Football. Makes me think, as a lot of your posts and threads do.
Agree with you especially pointing out the head phones. This will bother some but . . . . watching our head coach fiddle with the mouth piece and saying nothing, or . . . . looks like a prop, not unlike props used on movie sets to appear that he is in control.
I said at the beginning of 2014 that I would not allow myself to be "used" by those that are very good at that.
Did not take long before I watched Hutson Mason being blamed for the "fiasco" that happened in Columbia. Hutson Mason was not calling the plays at that point and what we got out of that was this . . . . a "back handed apology" from our head coach. Same kind of apology that he mustered up after the gator game. Pruitt came out quick and said he had messed up. In the typical Mark Richt way of reacting, had to let some time pass before owning up to what had just happened, day or so later.
The only thing that will change offensively in Athens, Season 2015, the calendar will move from 2014 to 2015. Other than that offensively, some great players and many good players will go through the same motions that have been put in place the last 14 years.
Again our losses, to this point (3), still have a bowl game to play . . . . anyone remember JAX and our last bowl game? Losses to South Carolina, Florida and Tech. All three point to a head coach that is who he is.
I call him the 4 million dollar man, same head coach that would have gotten another $100,000 had he made a major bowl in 2014. $100,000 would inspire me to do things that would insure they were done right. Guess when you have been making millions over 14 years, $100,000 does not really matter. Sad.
How is that raise coming along for Bryan McClendon? We understand he got new business cards, hard to spend business cards, don't seem to have a lot of value like the American Currency seems to have.
I encourage all that read this post read the link posted below. Might pay special attention to what our head coach has to say about things such as "special teams". Check out the names that Bryan McClendon led to the Classic City. Not a good read for the "bleeding hearts".
Pulled this from the article.
McClendon was credited for landing nine of the team’s 21 recruits during the 2014 cycle. Of those nine, three were 5-stars and four were 4-stars.
