Much to agree with in your post sadlerdawg. Still a believer that the offensive line at this point will have a huge effect on our outcomes, hoping to see a lot of the younger pups getting playing time. Haven't watched film of the game yet, might do that today. A practice of mine.

I agree Buc. I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the O line's performance. They performed much better than I expected. You (and others) have been saying that Coach Friend was getting them into "game ready" mode, but I wasn't convinced. Very happy to say that I was mistaken. Hopefully this is the first of many of my preseason expectations that I am wrong about. B)

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Buc, you mentioned your "habit" of watching film - I know where that comes from - good on you!

Can you or anyone else tell me where I can find a full video of the game? I've seen the highlights, but so far I haven't seen any posting of the game. I, like you Buc, have a habit of reviewing film to see what went right and what needs work. Thanks!

Much has been said since the game about field position.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney told reporters that the one stat “that was the difference in the game” was average starting field position. Per Swinney, UGA’s average starting field position was its 43-yard line, while Clemson’s was its own 19-yard line.

Not going to call that sour grapes, guess Dabo is happier when he wins.

Who was responsible for the starting field position Dabo? Was mentioned on this board before the game that good SEC football teams have a history of a good punting game. Also, Special Teams backed up the kicking game quite well.

One more thingy, if as a head coach you think that was the only thing that we did better . . . . might want to check with your highly paid offensive and defensive coordinators, see if they have the same thoughts. PP on it . . . . SOUR GRAPES.

But...how our coaches used him was a game plan well designed and executed

I just don't believe the way Gurley was used was a plan...there were just too many series and plays in the first half when bobo passed instead of ran. We should be a run first team any time, but especially with the backs we have and what is essentially a first year starter at QB. I think it just took a half of football for bobo to realize what everyone else watching knew should happen. RUN,RUN, RUN!!!! If not Gurley, use the others. Even Chubb and Michel were ripping yards at will in the second half. If we ran more in the first half, we would have scored more than 21, and they would have scored less.
That being said, Great win. Loved the 2nd half. Just think there are teams on our schedule that we may not dominate in the 2nd half like we did and taking as much of a lead into halftime that we can will be helpful, IMO.

Exactly right sadler...you step on the gas out of the box and never let up or look back.... I firmly believe something was said in the locker room at halftime not by the coaches but Gurley himself......he knew he could take over the game and said so....lead and the rest will follow...Bobo has to get over the pass first syndrome and use the players that he has available, and that is the BEST running back and the BEST stable of running backs in the country...Bobo tried his best to screw up that game especially in the first half....what a lot of people don't see is if not for Todd Gurley the score at halftime would of been Clemson 21 Dawgs 7...and that is a FACT......

Respectively sadlerdawg and ogredawg

At kickoff the heat index was over 100 plus with high humidity

The temptation is to run TG and build a lead

We needed to find out what our defense was capable of

True without TG score would hsve been 21 - 7. Clemson. We used just enough of him

In the first half

500 mile car race how many are won wire to wire? Not many

Run smart have a strong car for the last 25% of the race

Defense and ST play a very good half. TG and NC get it done

Dawgs win big

Will this be our game plan for every game..... no

Sadlerdawg glad you enjoyed the "W" with guarded optimism. Believe we will still

Have future pleasant surprises

Me having a TG with 15 touches which is the number picked by ogredawg correctly

Going into a bye week before USC is better than a TG who was worked to his limlt

bodes well for the rest of the season

The beautiful thing is regardless of who is right we spanked the kittens

And sour grapes CDS...... love it. Go Dawgs

Go Dawgs!
