yd1, there is not a reason in this world for me not to be thinking that improvement has been made on the defensive side of the ball.

A reason . . . . Most that follow our team closely understand that 2013, hope most that read this are sitting down . . . . was a failure. We can slice and dice 2013 any way we choose, but it still comes out 8-5. Guess that beats 6 wins and a bowl loss to UCF in Memphis. "I guess".

Now we see some of the underlying factors, outside of grantham. NC_Dawg flat called it the way it is/was in the thread he started.

Truth be told . . . . we had two upper level coaches, head coach and defensive coordinator that were not close to moving our program forward. I see it like this . . . . Speak often about BMOC. We had that same problem with head coach and defensive coordinator. If that is not the truth, then someone explain to me what I have watched with our program since JAX. Richt, grantham did not gee-haw from the beginning. Even mules understand gee/haw, Richt, grantham did not.

Anyone have an answer to that? I do, and it is a very simple answer. Leadership has to come from the top. I now see the "new hires" making the necessary changes in Athens to move our program closer to the final four. Should that not come from the top? Think about that.

To me in a very round about way CMR did display backhanded leadership truly believe he

Stuck a fork in Towel and told him he was toast here in Athens

Next he heard what CWF was saying about CJP. Call it any way you like seeing this as a

Life line to keep him coaching or anything else. CMR knew by bringing CJP to Athens he was

Going to have a very strong minded assistant who in turn would hire like minded people

To fill out his staff. IMO. CTR was a find and CMR was all over this like white on rice

He was well aware of what he was going to get with Tracy. Big time upgrade

The more I look at this picture. CMR knew he was going to have to stand off to the side

And let these young dawgs run and to this point is doing just that

Go Dawgs!

yankeedawg1, I "think" that all any of us on the "sideline" had to do was this . . . .

Chris Wilson came to us from Miss State. Speaking for myself, that was a very good hire. Can still see some of the benefits from his time on campus. Some of the players are still here and benefited from Wilson' coaching. Chris Wilson is not through, not by a long shot. Anyone on this board remember the now head coach at Texas being passed over by Florida? I do.

Chris Wilson wanted to retract and retrace his steps, not to leave Athens, after he had told Southern California he would coach for them.

At that point, Mark Richt said, thanks but no thanks. Point I am trying to make is this . . . . Reading the press headlines, would have us believe that Richt got Pruitt to come to Athens in a very short time (days). That is not the "whole truth". This is the BS coming from some in the media and the Athens group also. AJC played that up and made a big deal out of Richt/Pruitt joining hands in short order.

At that point in time, our program was coming off of a loss to Nebraska, players totally out of control, defensive coordinator on his way out. Entire group being replaced by Pruitt and "his" coaches. Know that to be a fact. Fact is this . . . . look at the names in the press guide on the defensive side of the ball.

Thank you Will Friend. Small wonder Mark Richt is "energized". Pruitt and his group are going to make many changes in the way football is/was played in Athens for too long. Pruitt will not remain in Athens past his three year contract. There is a reason that he is a "hot item".

Pruitt is a "football teacher" not a pastor, or priest. That is not ugly, it is who Jeremy Pruitt is, a football coach, a coach that does not have "strings attached".

Taylor and DeLoach get to play, my my, not sitting . . . . What is going on in the Classic City?

The reason that Chris Wilson was not allowed to stay . . . . the "deal" had already been struck. Pruitt and Rocker were on their way.

Back at you yankeedawg1. Bacon cooking, next step will be the omelettes. Later on today, baby back ribs on the lump charcoal grill. Somewhere in between a Bloody Mary. Later on, who knows.

See where California Chrome got the bag of cookies yesterday. Trainer said that it the last thing in the routine. Says CC knows that there is a race Saturday.

Have to say this . . . . maybe at some point we can get into a "winning routine" in the Classic City. I will furnish the "cookies".

Have a great weekend. :)
