yankeedawg1, I "think" that all any of us on the "sideline" had to do was this . . . .
Chris Wilson came to us from Miss State. Speaking for myself, that was a very good hire. Can still see some of the benefits from his time on campus. Some of the players are still here and benefited from Wilson' coaching. Chris Wilson is not through, not by a long shot. Anyone on this board remember the now head coach at Texas being passed over by Florida? I do.
Chris Wilson wanted to retract and retrace his steps, not to leave Athens, after he had told Southern California he would coach for them.
At that point, Mark Richt said, thanks but no thanks. Point I am trying to make is this . . . . Reading the press headlines, would have us believe that Richt got Pruitt to come to Athens in a very short time (days). That is not the "whole truth". This is the BS coming from some in the media and the Athens group also. AJC played that up and made a big deal out of Richt/Pruitt joining hands in short order.
At that point in time, our program was coming off of a loss to Nebraska, players totally out of control, defensive coordinator on his way out. Entire group being replaced by Pruitt and "his" coaches. Know that to be a fact. Fact is this . . . . look at the names in the press guide on the defensive side of the ball.
Thank you Will Friend. Small wonder Mark Richt is "energized". Pruitt and his group are going to make many changes in the way football is/was played in Athens for too long. Pruitt will not remain in Athens past his three year contract. There is a reason that he is a "hot item".
Pruitt is a "football teacher" not a pastor, or priest. That is not ugly, it is who Jeremy Pruitt is, a football coach, a coach that does not have "strings attached".
Taylor and DeLoach get to play, my my, not sitting . . . . What is going on in the Classic City?
The reason that Chris Wilson was not allowed to stay . . . . the "deal" had already been struck. Pruitt and Rocker were on their way.
