So what is it going to be

Mentioned some time back that A.J. Turman is one heck of a back. Played football in Central Florida, in a very tough district. Many good football players come out of Boone High School. Play against many teams that have players the size of college players. Turman is not afraid of competition, he welcomes it.

Since when is 4.4 and 4.5 speed with Turmans power not an exceptional player. Someone running a 4.3 might catch him. Also notice in the video below, most of those trying to tackle him go for his ankles, head on, not good. Might also watch him "blocking" to protect the quarterback.

Auburn wanted Turman as did FSU and Miami. Put a talented offensive line like the one Auburn has had recently on the field, Turman would turn many heads. We will see soon enough.

Some of the beat writers, not all, getting some inside information on the quarterback position. Most of those that post their thoughts or what they know say Hutson is the quarterback. Head coach and offensive coordinator have said same.

If Hutson Mason is that far ahead of the others, does not surprise me that it sometimes takes a long period of time to put a plan together in Athens.

Do I think that Faton Bauta lacks an understanding of the Mike Bobo system? If that is the case, then our offensive coaches are guilty of the same things that we despised our deposed defensive coordinator for. Players lack of understanding.

Football is a game, much of the game is played on the sidelines, not on the field. It is controlled by those that call the plays. Maybe they don't understand? Just saying. As has been said here more times than any of us can count.

AM was so far ahead of everyone that he knew exactly what he was looking at. What he did and the way he did it started way before he arrived in Athens. Have said on this board before. When AM was injured in high school, Plant to be exact, he was in the booth helping with the play calling. Upon his arrival in Athens, he did it "their way" for a while, but anyone that watched AM knows he took over the offense. Coach on and off the field. I said that.

Don't know if and when we will get another AM, but with the approach that I see being used in Athens, simply does not add up to me. Could be wrong on who I think has a chance to produce more for us, but how are we to know if they don't get playing time? Reasonable question, me thinks.

Buc, I think AM is/was much more cerebrial than any of the QB's in Athens today.

Buc, watched a lot of film on him....tough between the tackles and I thought he had very good speed. he looked very "smooth" with his open field running style.

I think he may be THE big surprise this season.

AJ Turman was the "real deal" in HS and like Buc said he played in a tough conference against some pretty big boys. I'm more excited about watching him than I am any other back we have besides Gurley.

slanagan21 and wlayton don't know what will happen with Turman, but I think that I read he was going to be touching the ball a lot in the Spring.

Will be interesting to hear what the defensive players have to say about AJ after the pads go on.

Offensive linemen love to block for talents like Gurley and Turman. Long about the third quarter, the offensive linemen enjoy watching these two slide just off of their hips and make someone pay.

Just like you guys, also want to hear what the coaches say or "don't say" during the Spring. All of us know that a healthy Gurley is the best or one of the best running backs in college football.

Here I go again . . . . please fix and continue to recruit offensive linemen, just like we do running backs, quarterbacks and receivers. Running backs, quarterbacks and receivers feel the same way, they understand how good they look and play with an offensive line that comes to play.

Getting close Brothers. Spring football is going to give us a good idea of what can be expected come fall. If I was on the roster, for damn sure I would believe what Pruitt has said more than once . . . . earn your spot.

One question here at the end.

How much will Theus weigh come Clemson? Just asking. I hope that he is around 300, might help with his footwork. Know that is a God given gift many times, but it can also be taught to a certain point. Just that extra second means so much. Still remember Theus and Jordan Jenkins going against each other at the Georgia Football Camp prior to signing on with UGA. John Theus showed some "fire" that night. Said not long ago that he was going to get into shape and play some football in 2014. I am on his side, hope he comes out with that fire in his belly and makes a believer out of me. Just give something that I have not seen from him to this point . . . . extra effort.

wlayton, I agree with you, he does not seem to have what it takes to hold that left tackle position down. Young men that can play that position, have their names called in the first ten when the NFL draft comes around. Check this NFL draft (2014). Not many running backs, but offensive linemen are well represented.
