Bad trend in recruiting

While I know that recruiting rankings are not a science (but yes they are; the teams always in the top 5 usually are extremely great), I do notice the past three years that we start off strong in recruiting
then something happens. We get tired; we lose focus; we lose steam; we NEVER steal anyone at the end-we always LOSE 1-2 at the end.

I don't know the answer to who should be the new DC; but I do know this: we need a man who brings that sizzle in recruiting. We need a man who will shut down the border in the 19 metro Atlanta counties. Remember what Garner did with Auburn last year?? Ole Miss coming in our back yard and getting RK; Bama killing inside the I-285 perimeter.

We need the Ed Orgeron/Lane Kiffin/Kirby Smart FINISHER!!!!!!!!!! NOT saying hire Orgeron, just saying we need to be the team that explodes at the end of recruiting, not the one who sets slowly like Molasses in the western sky.......that slow exhale as another signing day comes and we mysteriosly go from #3 to #12 in recruiting. 2 months ago we were #2 in the nation
and we fizzled.

Another thing that really gets next to me BulldogShannon, is coming away with really good recruits, too many times they are suited for the same position.

The up and down play from UGA comes from a lack of understanding by the head coach. A good example of that, and it is another cover-up by our head coach, falling short in needed areas.

This head coach wears his honesty button BS on his lapel. Not unlike grantham, he also does not do the heavy lifting, that is done by the McClendon's.

What has our head coach done that separates him from any coach? Many say look at his wins. OK, look at his wins against some teams that should never be on our schedule, or look at the losses, losses that should never have occured.

You said . . . .

We get tired; we lose focus; we lose steam; we NEVER steal anyone at the end-we always LOSE 1-2 at the end.

Truer words never spoken. Think I would add this . . . . That is all the "Group" in Athens expect. Reach that particular height, mission accomplished. Now go home or to South America and do whatever it is that you do, head coach, sir.

It's very simple BShannon...

It's the same problem that has plagued our program for awhile, and it's called complacency. As soon as it looks like we're sort of close to filling up all of our available spots, Richt calls it a day and heads off to Zimbabwe to hand out Bibles.

Now some would look at what I just said and say it was ugly, but believe me that there are few here that don't
appreciate the fact that MR follows the example of the apostles following the commandment to bring the word of God to all nations... I just wish he would do it full time and give up his part time gig at UGA.

How our recruits rank is way too often a joke. As Buc said... we'll get 3, 4 star recruits that help our recruiting class ranking, but they will all be QB's vying for one spot on the field. We all know that there
are some "misses" in the stars ranking system, and if there's a 5 star that's going to miss... he will be the one
we went all in on, and teams like 'Bama let us have... and several others will probably be arrested before they
even get to school.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Wartdawg, the truth is never ugly, some have a problem sorting out the narrow space between religion and truth. mark richt has mastered the "narrow space". That too is not meant to be ugly, it is the truth.

Yeah, I'm tired of too many people starting an opinion on CMR like this "He's a great man....". That just means we all know there is a problem but are scared to speak it, so we find something good to say.

When speaking of a coach, the first thing out of our mouths should be an accomplishment, not what kind of guy he is.

Yes, he's won 2 SEC titles. Nice.....but 8 straight BCS title game appearances and not ONE of them is from the team that sits in the 4th best state for producing football talent???? That, sir, ain't getting it done. If CMR were at KY or Ole Miss these past 13 years, I say put him in the Hall of Fame.

Bama does not accept "good". That may go through bad decisions in head coaches from time to time, but they do not tolerate 9-3...we do.

I don't want to put extra pressure on anyone over there but the school president should walk into the AD's office in the morning and tell him the MINIMUM result next year is to win the SEC in football or HE is gone.

What is gonna stink is we will float with CMR a few more years and Smart/Pruitt will get that first head job somewhere and be considered great new coaches..........and we will still be floating when we could have gone a head and got Smart now.

We all know we are in the last inning and a half with CMR-so why trudge along when many good candidates are out there.

Some coaches may not take our DC job, but ALL these guys would take our head coaching job:

Smart, the Stanford DC, Pruitt, James Franklin before PSU called, Charlie Strong before Texas called.

Oh well, we have 12-1 talent but we all know we will be 10-3 because we will screw up a game with special teams, and CMR will walk out there and tell us all that he will work to get us better.

IT'S ALL CRAP.

I want national titles.
