FSU will once again own South Georgia in recruiting.

Had a little more time to think about this post.

Gator Bowl has come and gone, and here we are with more of the wait until next year, we will be really good in 2014.

My personal feeling is that some of the young men that sign on with Georgia honestly take on the personality of the head coach. At the same time we have an egomaniac on the defensive side that is the exact opposite of the head coach.

Hard for me to understand the coaches not the players. Players are caught between the two coaches, the result of that is what we have seen on the field since the head coach and our defensive coordinator came together. Players on the offensive line playing football every other game. Players on defense still scratching their heads and waving their arms.

Head coach calls this continuity. The same continuity that I saw when Willie was the defensive coordinator. Head coach does not fully understand the word "continuity". If 8-5 is the head coaches idea of continuity, my friends, I don't want any more of it.

Have read where some think that Auburn winning might lessen the damage that is already occuring in South Georgia. In my opinion, could not be farther from what will happen elsewhere. Damage is done as far as us competing with FSU. If Auburn wins, makes it a hell of a lot worse for UGA. The athletes from Middle and North Georgia will flock to play on the Plains. Alabama with a loss last night, will still get most of what they want on this side of the Chattahoochee.

2014 schedule that many seem to think will be a cake walk. Not so. Auburn returns. Anyone think that Tennessee and Florida will not improve? Vanderbilt, they have shown what their intentions are. Could very well be a season that "excuses" will not suffice.

Question is . . . . Where does this leave us. Guess here is that we start the "get'em in 2015". Seems to be the leaders way of remaining in the pay line. Four years with a guarantee of 3 million a year. Why would I leave, hell that is a lot of money to pass up. Only go around once in this lifetime, grab it while it is there, right?

Don't buy into the coaching staff, don't buy into the folks that run the program higher up. Could very well be that McGarity's hands are tied. Folks above him are satisfied with the coaching setup.

Buc we have made some very good in roads with getting some of the players from S. Ga. Brooks County, Lowndes County, Cook County, Colquitt and Thomas counties and some from Tift and now I guess you can even include Camden since they now are AAAAAA in football. Players will again be steered to Tallahassee more so than the plains. FSU is big in S Ga. always has been especially when Bowden was king and taking his show on the road and WINNING. This team is Jimbo Fishers team and his recruits and they are very very good. Aubuurn is talented but no way do they match up with this FSU team even tho they play in the ACC, they will match up against any team in the SEC, Big 12, or PAC 12 as far as speed and size. A dynasty in the making in Tallahassee with Fisher at the helm does not bode well for us in S. Ga. in the recruiting game.

ogredawg, know that you have connections to folks that know what is going on in South Georgia. My living in Florida has not removed me from some of that. Much of what I get comes from folks that are very close to the truth.

Took Fisher a little while to get the program balanced. Bobby Bowden leaving and the turmoil it caused was not an easy thing to overcome. Lots of feelings were bruised in Tallahassee the past five or so years.

Brother, I see the same direction at UGA. There is a group that will fight tooth and nail to keep the current head coach. Some on this board and other sites say that the present head coach changed a lot of what was going on in Athens for the better. I don't disagree with that, all we have to do is look at the hiring practices after VD became athletic director.

Bobby Bowden had a hell of a run at FSU, put the university on the map. College football did creep up on BB and it was not a pretty picture toward the end. He had let others run the program, while he was recognized as the leader. Jimbo Fisher started immediately changing the way the football program was being run, and we see the results of that now.

Our head coach is not going to do anything more than what he is doing. He is stubborn, believes he has the answers needed to build our program. Thus far the stubborn sticks, the program is not moving forward. As has been said on this board, give several coaches the same material that has been recruited to play in Athens for the past x number of years, for damn sure there is a different outlook than the one we see now.

Quite frankly, our head coach is not ready to go deeper into the ministry. If that was the case, he would have left some time back. He is on the path that Bobby Bowden went down, and it will probably turn out that feelings will get bruised in Athens and other places that relate to UGA football.

Promise you I am keeping an eye on the recruiting side of the ledger. Want to see just how much of an impact that our defensive coordinator has this upcoming signing period. Not too far away. Plain and simple from where I sit. The game is played different in the NFL than in college. Our defensive coordinator could not hold a job in the NFL, and he sure as hell does not understand college football. There is a difference.

Can and do see the effects right now that FSU is having on Central Florida.

Like TN Dawg said a short time back . . . . I am a Georgia man, will always watch and root for my team. While I have a sour taste in my mouth, it is not because of the players. They too are frustrated, all one has to do is watch the videos and listen to what the players are "not saying".

Not a pretty picture at this point. Media will hype it up, some of their jobs depend on the press passes and being allowed to enter areas that the rest of us are not allowed to enter. Been there, done that. It is what it is.

Below is a site that I often visit. Most of the time there is a lot to ponder after reading the site. Found this to be interesting and actually sounded like many of the posts presented here.

Some here and elsewhere like to use "stats" many times when making a point. I know that I sometimes do that. If you have not read this, think you too will recall some of your thoughts and posts. :)

wlayton, one thing for sure, don't have to tell you about the talent on this board. Loaded. You have a feeling for most things. All of us have our favorites, but it pretty much boils down to the same thing and you have said it more than once . . . . all of us wear the same COLORS. :)

Want to say this while the thought is still in this old farts brain. 36869, the lengthy post you made to AD5 in another thread, has been read by me more than one time. Lots of feeling, and facts. Can't go wrong with the truth Brother. :)
