Games like the one being played tomorrow between Georgia and Auburn are played all over the nation. Stanford was not (truly) given a chance against Oregon, but . . . .
At some point there is a reason that a Stanford can eliminate a team like Oregon that was going to face off with Alabama in the National Championship Game. According to those that tell us they understand the outcomes of college football better than we do, makes me lol.
Many said, including talking heads and Vegas that Auburn would not win against Texas A&M. TAM had Johnny Football and home field advantage. TAM had also taken Alabama to the wire on their turf. Auburn would not be a problem.
Say it again, tomorrow's game is up for grabs. Up for grabs meaning neither side has the over powering team.
So, what decides this game? Some like to say strong and shifty running backs. Others like to say the defenses. Offensive lines are mentioned. For the most part what I have read is the Auburn offensive line is fast, strong and are juiced.
Nick Marshall is being compared to Cam Newton after this short juncture in his SEC career. You buy that, and from what I have read, many do. Nick Marshall is not a Cam Newton, JMHO.
If Grantham cannot drive Nick Marshall nuts, we have our answer as to whether or not Grantham belongs in Athens. Would you not agree with that? At the beginning of this season, can anyone say that Nick Marshall would be the leader of the offense?
My thoughts move along this line. If our defensive coordinator cannot "game plan" against a "first year quarterback" in the SEC . . . . how does it improve next year or the year after?
From where I sit, this is a game that has to be coached, more so than played on the field. Don't take that statement in the wrong way. What I am saying is this . . . . If Malzahn and Johnson can get their troops ready to play a game of this magnitude . . . . explain to Buc why we can't do the same.
Say it again for (x) number of times this week, this is a game that coaching staffs are or should be held responsible for. The Nation is watching. Both sides are pretty much evenly matched personnel wise . . . . that leaves what? Maybe coaching?
This is what DawgnLA said in another thread, and I am on board with his post, and it is not the first time he has spoken along these lines. He understands.

This is a line of scrimmage league. Must get more depth at the OL. Not necessarily talking about 5 stars across the board either. Need hard nosed, drive you into the dirt football players up there. Decent depth and plenty to rotate in on DL right now. Can't lose the focus there, but must get more OL signed. Need more that can play tackle position. Our only true depth is at OG as we sit now.

From where I sit, that is absolutely spot on. Tomorrow I worry about our left offensive tackle. Lawson will be all over us on the left side. I know Gates is giving everything he has, just bothers me that Mark Richt can sign quarterbacks but comes up short in the living rooms of offensive left tackles. Think about that, are we wrong?
Probably my last post tonight. Know that makes many happy, but it works both ways, don't have to read the long, drawn out "stuff" that I often post here.
Bet the farm on this . . . . ogredawg's game day thread will be a lot "hotter" than the Appy State thread.
This is it . . . . AM and the Georgia Football "Team" will win tomorrow, if . . . . Grantham has a "game plan".
