JSW Arrested For Pot ?

I guess I didn't make my point as clearly as I wanted.

We all know is a Richt is a good man.

My argument is for all the people that want to keep him because he is a good christian man etc.

By your own admission it happens at "every other school".

So we keep a coach because he is a good, Godly man but we have the same problems with discipline as "every other school". In fact team discipline on the field is worse than average if you go by the number of penalties year in and year out.

where's the advantage?

The team isn't the only influence in these folks lives, sometimes the other (outside)influence gets the players attention and the outside influence probably does'nt care whether he gets caught or not. It's impossible to watch them close enough that some of them don't get caught with their pants down. Its hard enough for most families to keep up with what two or three kids are doing, much less 75-100 of em.

You made the point. On the aspect of that being a valid reason to keep a coach, I think we all are pretty close
on agreement.

The only thing I would say is that I'm not qualified to say he doesn't make a difference in some kids lives, because we probably never hear of the success stories as they stay out of the headlines.

The part about that being a valid argument to keep him... no. I'm sure many coaches are a positive influence on kids lives, but the job requires a level of success on the field first and foremost.

Trying real hard to stay out of this.

If anyone on this board thinks that smoking pot is a real bad thing, I encourage you to put the whiskey down, leave the beer and wine alone. Check statistics . . . . deaths etc. Have read many posts on this site that encourage or admit to alcohol. Want to take it further, let's go.

This has been going on for a very long time, so let us not get too holier than thou at this point.

Face facts. Don't give a hoot who is leading the college football program, these young folks are not going to put the pipe or the bong down. Some probably twist a nice joint. Once upon a time in the 60's I did.

Mark Richt is not capable of preventing these young men from smoking Mary Jane. He knows that, what Richt is doing follows along the lines of others that say they would like to see certain things changed. Ain't happening folks.

Takes me back to this. Really don't think many on this board and others understand what the new SEC contract with Disney will allow. Disney wants the best players to play, at any cost.

If anyone is against Nick Saban and his policies, what are the chances of the NCAA or anyone else pulling him out of his Ivory Tower? Don't know of a single coach in the nation that has the balls to call the student section out . . . . and get results. Know what that is called? Winning. Something that escapes what many on this board want badly.

Believe it is time for Georgia to focus on Georgia. Tired of this crap that I read in the AJC and other blogs. Been around media types for a long time . . . . think they are clean? What bubble do any of us live in?

I often think about Willie Nelson, all of the good he has done for so many. My God, ask any Veteran about Willie, of course that is not a high priority these days. We were given a license to drink at cheap prices, and use anything that made us feel better. Made us easier to deal with. If you haven't served, you sure as hell don't know.

36869, you might think this is against what you have posted. It is not. I have great respect for your posts, for the most part. Every coach, whether it be Saban or Richt or . . . . have their "methods". Mark Richt has his way, Nick Saban has his way. Nuff said.

No problem Buc,Wlayton and others, maybe I posted while under the influence of too much passion and I apologize. Still believe what I was trying to say is correct, I just didn't go about it correctly.

Like Buc hears all the FL chatter I hear it from Bama and Auburn fans everyday. The old timers love to rub it in how much UGA is like Miami Hurricanes were back in the day, bunch of criminals. The only difference they won more. I have no rebuttal.

I don't care if they have a penalty for it or not...

I just want all teams to have the exact same rules about it.

The only time a player from Bama has his arrest made public is when Saban wants to kick him off the team because he found a better recruit.


At least we still trail Florida on the arrest count...
that's something I guess.
